So here we are then, the final home game of the 2024/25 season, and it’s a late kick off because of coverage on DAZN. By the time we kick off we will know how Gateshead have got on at Boston, how Halifax fared at home to Braintree and if Altrincham have overtaken us, at least temporarily, by getting something from their game at the Daggers.
Our visitors are Wealdstone who, due to the late kick off, could be in the relegation places by 5.30 if Daggers beat Altrincham, as they currently sit just one place and two points above the drop zone. Their current form is almost identical to ours with just one win (against Forest Green) in their last 4 games, although a draw away in the local derby at Barnet indicates they might have more about them than the woeful Ebbsfleet side we beat handsomely on Monday.

The Stones now have Welshman Neil Gibson in charge (no, me neither!), after he was appointed towards the end of January - all of his previous managerial experience has been in the Welsh leagues. They don't appear to have any ex-Shrimpers on their books at the moment - Sean Adarkwa was allegedly a target of ours but hasn't played since mid-November so presumably still injured. He's out of contract at the end of the season. They have Alex Reid, on his second loan spell from Oldham this season, up front and the tall, athletic forward will be the likely dangerman.
With 2 games in 4 days over Easter, Kev opted to rotate the squad with the strikers operating in alternating pairs for 70 and then 20 minutes in each game. With Kendall, Bonne and Walker all scoring against the Fleet he'll probably have to decide which of these (plus presumably the non-scoring Hopper) will have to make do with a place on the bench.
Equally in midfield he rested KAF and Bridge on Friday and Parillon (whose name our stadium announcer annoyingly makes rhyme with the 1980s prog rock band Marillion!) on Monday, it remains to be seen if Morton will be fit to be involved on Saturday and if not whether he sticks with the Husin and Coker combo or whether Cav Miley comes back into contention.
So much to think about and discuss, so who would you choose to start and what do you think the result will be?
