To round off the month of November, it’s a long trip up north to West Yorkshire and The Shay, home of FC Halifax Town.

Chris Millington’s side had their home game against Sutton postponed last Saturday and then travelled to table-topping Forest Green Rovers on Wednesday where they drew 1-1 so they have a day’s less recovery than we did following the 0-0 draw at Woking.

They currently sit 8th In the table, just outside the play-offs, and are in better form than us over the last 6 league games.

Kev has at least one decision to make and that’s who will replace the suspended Cav Miley - it will probably be Husin, although on current form he perhaps doesn’t deserve it. Whether he sticks with 3 up front for a tricky away game remains to be seen - somehow I doubt it though and I would imagine Bonne or Walker will be replaced by Jack Bridge in the starting XI.

For those travelling to Yorkshire, I recommend you read the excellent thread started by @DoDTS - it really does tell you all you need to know about the trip. https://www.shrimperzone.com/forums...ay-30th-november-2024-3-00pm-kick-off.120319/

So who would you choose to start and what do you predict the result will be?

1-1 last season, Wes got our goal, Harry Cardwell missed a sitter, and the most bizarre sending off I think I've seen. Ref blows for a free kick, swings his arm around to point which way and hits one of theirs right on the nose doing so. Player pushes ref away, and gets set off for assault on a referee! Red card later rescinded on appeal.

Their pitch is prone to being waterlogged, and their home game last Saturday was postponed due to weather. With all the rain up here this week too, could be very slippery.

Been suprisingly sunny most of this week so far. Just bitterly cold in the mornings. Looks to be warmer and still clear for rest of week. Shouldn't be any issues, only if cold snap stays or gets worse, half the pitch doesn't get any sun at all in winter months, so takes longer to defrost...

Last weeks postponement was always on the cards Rochdale(20miles) and Bradford(8 miles) were both called off as well.

Photos from last couple of days...

Can any older fans confirm that one end of the Shay was a terrace of railway sleepers and clinker type ash to stand on. I have distant memory but that has stayed with me, probably late 1960’s. Don’t think we won many there either 😕

I think that was behind the goal at the far end for away fans.
Below is what I think was their East Stand. That ground really was the pits back in the 60s.

Forecast seems to indicate heavy rain Friday

Really?? I've gone to a few websites and might be an hr or two at most overnight on Friday and that's it. Also warms up considerably.

Definitely will be more accommodating weather conditions than last seasons early kick off where it was about 30 degrees, too hot that and I'm an Aussie..
Might just be the chosen standard weather site showing it. Was weather.com or something?
