So you think we can go from lower to mid table and challenge for the autos when you've stated that COSU won't be spending too much and we are a Sunday league team? How will that huge margin in the league be closed then?

Pushing for the play-offs - Chris Millington's Halifax Town (Image: Alan Stanford)

By Chris Phillips@cjphillips1982Chief sports reporter

ECHOSPORT talks to Halifax Town fan and podcaster Luke Walsh ahead of tomorrow's match with Southend United.

Halifax are currently eighth in the table. What have you made of the start to the season.

"Overall it's been a strong start to the season.

"It's similar to previous years, holding our own against some sides with budgets well above ours."

What are the main reasons for the good start to the season?

"This Halifax squad is very hard to break down and usually organised.

"Although we’re an industrial side the positives are that we’re particularly hard working and solid defensively with that ability to quickly catch sides out on the break."

What do you feel can be achieved this season?

"Personally I look at the squad at the moment and the sides around us and I don’t see why we can’t maintain a playoff spot for a second year.

"The league's particularly open this year and on our day I think we can beat anybody so if we can finish inside the play-offs who knows."

Who is the dangerman?

"Halifax aren’t blessed with much fire power going forward however we have got Andrew Olowabori who will frighten the opposition and cause problems.

"If he can take his chances then he could be a dangerman.

"Billy Waters is also a shout as he usually takes the chances that are given to him."

What's the team news?

Scott Highs loan has been recalled so he won’t be playing which is a shame.

Apart from that it’s a full squad

Point 1 season isn't over.
Where we finish irrelevant what I think is important is we get out mentality and formation right so we build a momentum for next season.

I've always believed that the best form defence is attack.
We give too much respect to teams higher up in the league by playing defensively with a defensive formation and invite more pressure playing more players back than forward.
Id like to see us go after every game.
Play like we want to win 3-2 than playing like we are happy with 1-0
Every team can be beaten in this league
I think Maher will go back to 3 at the back - unfortunately in my mind.

What id like to see

Colin
Gus Taylor crowther Ralph
Coker Morton kaf
Walker pebble bridge
