Films you've watched recently.

It's a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. I wouldn't let the accents of the leading protagonists bother you too much.

If she speaks like that in a kitchen sink drama set in Barnsley, then we can have a whinge.

Fairy muff...guess that the film was (in my opinion) just ok after all the months of build up. Obviously head and shoulders over 1,2 & 3 but with the misty eyes of nostalgia, not a patch on 4,5 & 6. Will I rush out to see Ep8....of course I will (and Rogue 1). Lets hope they don't "revisit" Empire and instead, do an entirely new story.

Apparently the next film involves a new, even bigger and badder, DEATH STAR!

:whistling:

The Survivalist - end of the world stuff. Raved about by critics, but bordering on art house and some fairly graphic scenes. Not a feel good film. 5/10

Took my son to see the jungle book.

Went to the cinema at Burham asi had never been there before.

Great old fashioned cinema with very cheap tickets. Me and the boy with drinks and popcorn etc for under a £10 well worth the visit.

Film was great and gets a 7.5/10 from me.

Bloody hell, that is good value. Costs upwards of £20 here, without any drinks & snacks.

Saw Pedro Almodóvar's Julieta this afternoon. In competition at Cannes and well worth seeing.Won't appeal to those who only like Almodóvar's comedies though.

Watched Grand Budapest Hotel, very quirky, but enjoyable film - took a while to get into, but once it gets going it a real laugh. Loads of famous actors - watch it and find out who's in it and what it's about...

excellent film, but I would not know where to begin in trying to explain it to someone

On the subject of cheap cinemas - and I'm readying myself for an anti-Canvey tirade here but...

Movie Starr on Canvey is really cheap. Three adults and two children to see The Jungle Book was only £17.

Looking forward to The Jungle Book (trailers look amazing), will hopefully go with the kids next weekend

Just ban any anti canvey poster ,you have the power so use it for good.

I fancy it too, but I'm wondering if its a bit scary for a 4 1/2yr old.

One of my nieces is the same age as your daughter and she was a bit spooked in places - it is pretty intense from what I've seen. I know my son will be ok, but my daughter may spend some of the film with her hands over her eyes!

Captain America : Civil War 8.5/10

Maybe the best Marvel film yet. I need to re-watch Avengers Assemble to decide for sure. Certainly better than Age Of Ultron or the previous couple of Captain America films.

Martin Freemans American accent though :nope: However, the new (brit) actor for Spidey did a great job, made him more child like and a bit nerdy but still with the Spidey-quips.
