Why do so many people wear poppies on the box long before 11/11?

It started at the end of October this year.Ridiculous.

It's only about 2 weeks, and is based on when they become available. I don't have a problem with that at all.

It's not quite Waitrose (I think it was) starting to promote xmas in September...

End of October is about right. It's the one's sitting on the comfy sofa's at the Beeb chatting away wearing poppy's that the PR girl has pinned to them that gets my goat more. If you don't agree with wearing one then don't wear one.
My recent favourite was the mouth piece of corrupt Tower Hamlets Mayor justifying all sorts sporting her poppy.
I walk down Bow road every day - your more likely to be punched for wearing a poppy around there.

I notice Barna hasn't shared this awful Guardian article about the poppy display at the Tower of London: http://www.theguardian.com/artandde.../tower-of-london-poppies-ukip-remembrance-day
He probably didn't share it because as you say it is awful - badly thought out, ilconceived and jumping to absurd conclusions. Smacks of someone with a deadline and a lack of ideas.

It doesn't necessarily mean the editor agrees, they often allow an alternative view to be aired - a certain ex Mayor of London used to write for the Mail (or one of the other Tory papers)

But he isn't UKIP'S new friend is he. As usual your favourite rag is printing a blatant lie. I notice you omitted to point out what the Rabbi Slneur Odze had to say about all of this. Slipped your mind per chance?
He pretty much is UKIP's mate or at least the boss of their friend.

Janusz Korwin-Mikke is the eccentric head of Poland’s Congress of the New Right. With his agreement, a member of the party, Robert Iwaszkiewicz, has just joined Ukip’s parliamentary alliance, Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy (EFDD), pushing it over a threshold of 25 parliamentarians from seven countries and thus securing more than £1m in funding for Ukip alone.

Does it follow then that in the group that Labour MEPs belong to, that they are all good chums?...oh and any eccentric leaders / far right connections are of course ok with labour?
I guess if it applies to Ukip then it must equally apply to labour?

Let's face it, UKIP have followed the rule book,(which should be changed IMO, to join forces with one member of another political party rather the whole party,) just in order to pick up a load of EU dosh, which they'll use mainly to finance their 2015 UK General Election campaign.

No way can Labour MEP's (or the Tories for that matter) be accused of anything like this level of hypocrisy.

Don't other parties pick up cash then by joining these alliances?

Of course, but the other parties (as far as I know) are all aligned with other European political parties, rather than just an individual from one particular party.

Unlike UKIP, other mainstream UK political parties,(again as far as I know), don't use EU cash to finance their UK election expenses, either.

Farage has gone on record saying it is not ideal but has also stated that if he starts coming out with the same sort of stuff as his party leader then the alliance will be terminated. Would you tar the entire Labour party with the same brush if one of them started coming out with ridiculous quotes and personal thoughts?
