Anyone who was there/goes to regular youth team games, are there any players really knocking on the door to be in and around the first team squad? I know we had the Defender on the bench last saturday and have seen glimpses of Jack Bridge in the side (More Friendlies), but any others of note?

Fantastic result!
Jordan Williams is the stand out player in my opinion.
Not too far away at all, think he's in and around the seniors at training anyway.
Physical, rampaging runs down the flank, on and off the ball. Highly intelligent player with great awareness.
ive only seen them play once, back in August but that was enough for me to see he will make it in the game.

Yes, and George Burton, the centre forward, is another. A really good result tonight against a constant barrage from a well organised Barnet side. Johnson was very unlucky to get sent off in my opinion, the ref had let far worse stuff go. Didn't much like the Barnet coaching team applauding the decision either.

Blues were under the cosh probably for a good two thirds of the game, yet Barnet didn't really trouble the keeper until the last ten minutes or so, and Bexon, in goal, proved to be a match for what they had to offer.

I heard tonight the next leg has to be played by 6th December so not sure if this or 20th is correct? What about getting the drum out for the next round and a little band of TBV to get the support going for these youngsters?

Also a good turn out from the first team in their support, and PB doing the rounds in the stadium again, he seems to like the gantry for some reason!

That'd make it a special night for them. Would certainly give em that extra push. Cracking

Great game & as I said after the last one what a difference a year makes - very noticeable improvement in some of our lads. Don't know all their names but keeper looks solid, right back did his job welll , No7 on the right looks like he has great potential, George was tireless up front & well supported by Fred. Nico also looks like he has something.
We hung in there after the sending off & looked marginally more comfortable with 10 than we did with 11 IMO. Very good header to win the game & looking forward to the next one.

Reckon most, if not all, of the 2nd year scholars will get a 3rd year. They were quite selective the year when they promoted them from the under 16s to under 18s and went for "quality over quantity" as Duncan said IIRC.

There are quite a few to look out for, but still a fair amount of development to go through before they are ready for the first team. Closest ones are probably Williams (RB), Matsuzaka (CB) and Adeyeye (LB).

We won but I can't help but feel Ricky Duncan has got very fortunate here. We need to be scoring more than one goal in games like this. Maybe time for ricky to open his eyes and call up a couple of those lads from the under 12s, their hunger to achieve at a higher age group should be enough to have us scoring for fun in no time, sort it out Ricky!

Nico also looks like he has something.
I find Nico Cotton interesting, he has undoubted skill but also seems to have a slight tendency to complacency on the pitch, maybe believing his skills will see him through. Doesn't always work like that and sometime I think he needs to actually dig in there. Reminds me a lot of JCR in his abilities.

He certainly seems to have "manned up" a bit - he has a bit more of an aggressive attitude this year & is more vocal to his team-mates than the lad I saw a year ago - still some improvement in there for sure.

Daniel Matsuzaka looks to be the best prospect but none of them are remotely near 1st team standard.
