Your most despised town in Britain...

KrustyTheKray

President
Following on from the most despised country theme, what is your most hated town in Britain?

If you could push the button on one town/Village/city, who would it be?

Come on, we've all been to dodgy area's around the country whether its to a Southend away game or not. There's so many to choose from!

I'll start and i'm going for Tilbury, full of chavs, crime and general disorder!

Over to you folks!

I think mine can be best summed up by the glorious response of a UK army officer in the opening days of the Iraq war.

Upon taking the Iraqi port of Uhm Qasar, a BBC journalist remarked that the town was, "the Iraqi version of Southampton."

"Southampton?" laughed the officer. "The streets are in ruins, there's bombs going off, we're getting shot at all the time and the only people here seem to be prostitutes. It's more like Portsmouth."

Would anyone miss Gillingham if it weren't there? It was like a depressing northern mining town on holiday in the South of England, where it had been filled with vile, burberry clad southern oiks.

Apart from the obvious Incestuous Col******r, I'd have to say Leeds.

What a sh!t hole that place is. A good day in Leeds is equivalent to a bad day in Lebanon, And it makes it worse when you hear that thick, northern monkey yorkshire accent that deserves to be eradicated.

Leeds, Leeds, Leeds... So good they named it Thrice? You're having a f%&king Laugh.

Col******r - Speaks for itself really!

Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham are also a real carsies!

That reminds me that I hate Grimsby, and not merely for what happened to us on the last day of the 2004-05 season. There is a town which would not be missed were it to slip into the sea...

That was going to be my suggestion. You also reminded me of Gillingham in an earlier post, despite me doing my best to forget it.

Nothing more needs to be said.
Spot on.

I have vowed never to go to this toilet again. Nearly got murdered about 30 on 2 in a pub, bus we were on got stoned and it was a Hull transport bus, worlds largest council estate and a total hole.

Others up there for me include Swansea,Grimsby,Doncaster and Sunderland/Middlesborough.

Don't stop at Tilbury - I'd like to see the entire Fenchurch Street loop wiped off the face of the earth. For those who've never experienced the dreaded feeling when your train to London veers dangerously to the left on the approach to Pitsea which indicates that you'll be going round 'the loop', I'm talking about such delights as Stanford-no-hope, Grays, Tilburies 'Town' and 'East', Purfleet, Rainham and Dagenham. Oh, and let's include the South Ockendon and Chafford Hundred spur for good measure

Milton Keynes gets my vote. Ok so its not rough and full of chavs but its the most soul-less place on earth! Oh yeah and we came away with nothing from our trip last season.

And being from Grays you'd think id want to defend my home town. But no you're quite right its full of chavs and eastern europeans...basically London is spreading out further. In 10 years it will be like Barking here. Luckily I'm at uni in Bournemouth most of the year where old people aside, its a great improvement!

What, not even the fact that our Feeder club (effectively) is based in the former?

The entire Forest of Dean for me. Nothing to do but sit at my computer all day.
