Official Match Thread York City v Southend United

We look like such smooth, slick footballing side. I think we sometimes forget we are a non-league side. We pass it and keep the ball so much better than some of the sides we had in the EFL.

Unfortunately, the embargo (Rat) has prohibited us from signing both a threatening midfielder and a striker. I've said it countless times that we are a couple of signings away in our starting 11 to be a top of the league side. Just to have any side in a few weeks is all I want.

Keep going lads, they will tire and get nervous.

After an initial flourish of goals in matches it seems we're reverting to the team of last season* with few shots and consequently few goals.

*It's not too surprising since this pretty much is the same team as last season.

Been absolutely all over them. They’ve had one shot and scored . We’ve had possession but apart from fonguck strike , barely troubled them . It’s so frustrating

We have another half to pull this back. I reckon we will come away with at least a point, or maybe three.
I think to come away with 2 draws from 2 away games with 14 fit players and bottom of the league is pretty decent.

I think we have to change our mindset of being a playoff, promotion chasing side and be content with every point we can get. That's obviously until our circumstances change 🤞
