Worst footballing defeat.

Worst ever was a 10-1 defeat in a match at (Reading) university against another hall of residence. Worst thing was they only went 1-0 up on the stroke of half-time!

On the plus side, we beat another hall 24-0 the season before. I got a lot of stick as, even though I was playing on the right wing (i.e. quite attacking), I didn't score a goal. Even our keeper got two

At home Vs a Woodham Athletic side, very tasty outfit. We hadn't bothered with any pre-season training and thought we'd turn up and beat them. Well, things started brightly enough we raced into a 1 nil lead within 20 seconds. My through ball was controled and finished past the on rushing goalkeeper, think Lampard to Shevchenko the other day.

With 5 minutes to go to the break we had fallen behind to two wonder strikes. Then on the stroke of half time, I popped up on the left wing cut inside my man, ala Mark Gower, and whipped a ball straight into the far top corner. As I hit it my mate, who was screaming for the ball went mad that I didn't pass to him asked what the hell I was doing, to which I replied "Sticking it in the top corner, any problems with that?"

Anyways, happy with the first half showing we decided to pull out a few tricks in the second half, all big Soccer AM fans so trying to copy the showboating for the day before ended up letting 5 in to lose 7-2.

In all fairness though, 3 were in the last ten minutes were we tired and I pulled out a goal, an assist and 14 nut megs, calling every single one.

Losing 14-1 against Coach Sports with SZFC was pretty impressive, particularly as we were 1-0 up after 25 minutes!

Whilst playing as a youngster i can remember one game where we were 5-0 up at half time, and ended up losing the game 6-5.

I (unfotunately) remember that, although I'm not taking any responsability as I got injured (shock) and came of when we were still 1-0 up. Also remember playing them at their place and them saying just before kick off, "Lets make it 15 this time". We were 3-1 up for a while only to get stuffed 15 or 16 - 3. Got my usual one goal of the season that game too.

Quote[/b] (Smiffy @ Aug. 18 2006,21:34)]Cant remember too many heavy defeats in my football career, the worst being about 6-0 or 7-0 i'm ashamed to say...

The best win I ever have been involved in was a 31-0 thrashing of Whittingham Panthers in which I scored 9 myself!... a club record which still stands I believe!..

Bloody hell I remember Whittingham Panthers from a few years back!

My heaviest defeat would have to be 18-0, we had set up a team from scratch and gone into the Under 16s and it was our opening fixture.

We drew the return game 0-0 - funny old game.
