Work On The New Training Ground Has Started Today 11th July 2022

I wonder if that’s the first pitch that is effectively going to be ripped up in the future and thus not had as much attention to it. Just speculating here. Either way not good but positive to hear 2 of the pitches are in a good visual state, let’s hope it’s in a good state when they finally get onto the pitches.
I was under the impression the first pitch (closest to the pond/car park) is meant to be the top notch "hybrid" pitch. Worrying if it is that one that has turned to straw.

Okay a heads up.

I have been over to the training ground, and just for the record only 1 of the 3 pitches is brown, the other two are still green and look fine and look maintain
.
They must be getting water otherwise all the pitches would be as brown as the first.

Why 0ne pitch has been allowed to go brown is a question for the experts who do this for a living.
They are not being watered at the moment

There should be 4 pitches there.

Agreed, the pitches must be getting some water on them if 2 are green and one is brown otherwise they would all be brown

The 2 pitches closest to Sutton Road should be the 2 of the better quality ones (to the right of the picture beow). The 3rd pitch (2nd pitch from the left) would be of the current standard that's at boots and laces, and the 4th pitch (in the left of the picture below) would be the one that will be ripped up at some point and changed to a 4G pitch.

Oh I thought the first pitch closest to pond car park was the one being ripped up, but logically you probably right it would be the one furthest away. Yes agreed if it’s the first one that is top notch that is brown then we are in an even more worrying position. But I’m sure it’s the 4th/3rd pitch furthest away from car park that is brown and not the top notch one. Let’s hope the takeover is done this week ah.

Ultimately, I think this post nailed it almost three months ago. The facility has not been consistently maintained by the club after it was handed over following principle completion. It was only ever a means to an end - a passable (for now) facility to get the club out of B&L, to make way for a stadium build project that funnily enough, is still yet to begin.

Until the club is under new ownership, bills paid and remedial work carried out on the pitches, I just cannot see it being used. Even if the portacabins are installed before then.
Thank you my friend

When it's not raining, I'll go and get some footage

Please do. I wouldnt mind one of the roots hall pitch either. That worries me more.

The Roots Hall pitch is coming along. It’s patchy in places, but I was expecting it to still be a sandpit, so the below photos should at least put minds at ease that it hasn’t been abandoned.

The same can’t be said for the new training ground though. Whilst the middle pitch looks green, the one closest to the car park looks ****ed. I’d assume they’re trying to salvage at least one of the pitches (the middle pitch, obviously) in the hope of moving in there at some point this season.

Yer they’ve knocked the farmer who they were having to get the water from as they had knocked the principle contractor so they ****ed off with supply Town mains . So i can only assume now they are having to limit the supply
