Without Gus's Goals in the League

Done a bit of calculating and I worked out that Gus's goals have earned us 10 points, from drawing to winning games and losing to drawing etc.

Without those points we would be, at this moment in time, 18th in the table.

You should also factor in how many we have conceded because Gus is out of position and miles up the pitch which may have cost us serious points, perhaps converting some of our many draws into 3 pointers

Don't forget if Gus wasn't playing his replacement may have chipped in with some goals too, maybe not so many but a few goals that may have achieved points from different fixtures. His replacement may have also helped prevent some of the goals we have conceded with him in the team

Football doesn't work like this. Gus is a huge asset, but his goals do tend to mask the weaknesses in his game, such as constantly wasting simple passes, being caught upfield like for the second goal on Tuesday, and his lack of pace.

To reiterate, he's had a fantastic season and I don't want to criticise him too much, but I find him quite a frustrating player to watch at times.

If only our strikers had his coolness in the box though.

Oh yes. Not disputing that. But our strikers are also keenly marked because of their position on the pitch. Gus drifts in from deep, and is rarely marked.
Yeah absolutely. But if Bonne had his calm head we’d probably be a few points better off.

There's a pretty simple solution if Golding isn't fit. Drop Good-Life, play Hopper at the back, put Gus up front alongside Bonne and bring in Wind :Whistling:

And if Ralph's still unfit maybe slot Miley in there :Thumbs up:
