It was also good to see Juppy come on at half time, and he certainly personified the fighting spirit of the fringe first team players by showing true grit and determination in his performance.
I think the consistency int he team's good at the moment and I can't believe you talk about liabilities at home when we haven't conceded a home goal against some pretty good teams in almost two months.

I always thought Jupp was better than the criticism he got. He's not as good as Hunt's been, but he can certainly do a job at right back and is quite a useful dynamic ful back.

On that stats page, wasn't our highest attendance the game vs. Scunthorpe recently, rather than Darlo?

Thought Jupp looked good last night added much more width to the right hand side of the pitch. Yes Petts is a great player to have inthe team away from home, but at home to break down teams who are happy with a point you must attack them on both flanks as do Yeovil.

The liability is not Che's defending (well, its better than it used to be) rather his lack of attacking play, which is what we need at home when we're trying to break down teams!!!

Ok ok ok ...let me get this straight in my head.

We are one of the form teams in league 2... we have the best team for a few years...we are pulling in some of the best crowds for a long time we actually have players winning player of the month awards.....right ?

Ok so on this understanding...can you imagine if Bently Petts and wilsom (as per other peoples opinons) actually played well and were not liabilitys...sh*t we would be playing in the Championship.

i would love to go back through the shrimperzone archives to begining of season and read the posts and i can bet that the ones who were saying Tilson did not have enough experiance and that we would struggle to stay up are still the ones moaning now that we are pushing for promotion.

If we had a time machine and fast forwared a few years to Southend in the championship (If time machines can go that far forward) i bet ya it would be the same people still whinning on (thats my opinion)

what do you guys (the negative crew) actually want...what do you realistically want to see...what more do you want the boys to do that they are not doing now....man i would love to hear what your expectations are.

you guys ...laughing out loud

This isn't a moan at all, however everyone must see that Wilson is the weakest link in the team.

As already stated I do not think he has enough attacking play about him, but I think its his inability to keep possession which makes him the liability of the team. I counted 7 times last night when he gave the ball away unnecessarily, of which only once did he win it back.

He is very fortunate to have Prior & Barratt behind him this year to clear up his mistakes otherwise in my opinion he would still be looking as poor as last year.

I think we all know that there's a local lad that is looking increasingly likely to join the Blues this summer, and if that happens and Tilly can keep the rest of the squad together it'll be our strongest starting line up for many many years!

And does this "local lad" play for a team whose home colours are claret and blue, or red, as last night I heard two rumours?

I'm guessing his on about Matt Lockwood as he has been spotted down at Roots Hall on a few occassion this season.

Who is the guy that wears claret and blue then? Is he Chris Powell?

I personally thought that Che and Pettefer were really shown up as the weak links last night.

Wilson has been pretty dire with his distribution for a fair while and the amount of times he gave the ball away was untrue. The moment when he kicked it straight at a Shrewsbury body, before trying to do a fancy bit of skill by spinning on the ball to try and get away from him unsuccessfully was cringeworthy. He just simply isn't good enough unfortunately.

Whilst I like Petts hardworking attitude, there are some games when we need width and an attacking threat from the right. We simply do not get it from him as we know. IMHO he should only be employed on the right wing against teams when we'd be happy with a point, mainly away from home. He should be in competition for a central midfield spot. Nicolau on the left and Gower roaming on the right is crying out to be tried.

I thought last night's game was quite good and highly enjoyable!

Thought all the team played quite well.

Was quite funny when the blizzard came down, it was totally unreal!

Glad Fredy got a goal at last, he needed it!

M.O.M. for me has got to be Barrett! Superb runs, excellent tackles and a constant threat. Prior was excellent too.
For those slagging off super Super Cheese Wilson, he looked ever solid again, and he's made so much progress this season.

Flav's was brilliant too!

I really enjoyed last night!

UP THE BLUES!
