I know a player who retired at 29(due to injury)he received his insurance pay out of around 30k and his pension pays 3k per month nett,he currently lives in Spain with his wife and kids and had a beautiful lifestyle.

Not bad for a league 2/conference player.
Have you ever thought about retiring from SZ and having a wonderful lifestyle in Kazakhstan ? I would give you a lump sum of £12.50 and a pension of £3 a month, you could get a huge house and a luxury horse and cart on that :winking:

Have you ?

You ain't even worth the sums you mention:smile:

Where do you get these facts from.

There is no way a player on £1000 per week who has played for a decade would have enough in a pension for £3k a month for the rest of his life.

Cant even imagine its possible to get a pension that starts at the end of a football career, they could have to pay out for 60 years, that would be over 2 million quid.

Even an insurance pay out wouldnt last long as it would only cover his potential earnings, which would only count up to his mid thirties at the most and would be based on his potential income which would have been very little.

Did he sign one of your imaginary contracts?

Who said he was on 1k a week?

I understand his last league 2 deal was 120k per year with several bonuse kicking in too, some of you seem to think 1000 a week is the norm which is so far removed from reality it's laughable.

I would say his total career earnings must be including very nice signing on fees around the million quid mark maybe slightly more.

I know of an ex Canvey player earning 75k a year playing in the conference and that was back in 2005 !

Just to let you all know we at the Blue household regularly have ex footballers turn up with their contracts, pay slips and bank account records just so my MrsBlue can publish the details on Shrimperzone. Everything MrsBlue says is true and not made up.

1000 a week is closer to the norm than 120k a year

I also doubt that a pension pot of a £1m is going to get someone a pension of £150,000 a year if they retire at 65 let alone 35!

Billy Kee has just signed a 3 month loan deal for Mansfield. Piggin Mansfield !!!!! :omg:

Kee is just the sort of player we should be going all out to sign . Kee was the main reason we are not playing in Div 1 this season after he battered us in the play off semi. He's a quality striker , good in the air , brave , intelligent , 2 good feet + can shoot from anywhere. and he's still only 24!

Ridiculous if Brown didnt attempt to get him .... he's probably spending too much time on trying to sign another bloomin midfielder

Phil hates good footballers and loves the Deegan/Atkinson types.....get him out to secure promotion!

Is it not correct that the maximum occupational pension pay-out (by law) is 2/3 of the final salary (assuming a defined benefit scheme)?

Pensions are normally discounted for early retirement as they have to pay out for longer.

The guy is my uncle!

The sad part of your rants is the owners of this site have deemed them to be ok and allowed you to continue, some on here will see it as funny but your fasto points are way into the minus with several decent minded folk bored with you.

And to add there is a huge tax on (60% I think) on pension pots worth in excess of £1.25m. I would expect a pension of £36k a year from aged 30 would crush an overall value of £1.25m

Haha. I know a Southend player in 2003 was earning 25k a year. You are talking out your backside.

Anything else you would like to make up? How hypocritical after one day of being subjected to repetitive attack formation and Jason Williams posts you get very very very annoyed. Think of how the rest of Shrimperzone have had to put with you doing the same for months. Anyway back to topic. I would rather see Jason Williams play instead of Billy Kee.

Agreed,

Jason is far superior and I even think if we just played just him we will still win.

You misunderstand I am far from annoyed as I think it's a compliment that a sock puppet wants to take the wee haha .

He isn't though...Adam McGurk is the reason we aren't in League One now. He scored their goal in the first leg and the equaliser in the second leg. Kee didn't even score at all in the playoffs.

I realise it was McGurk who scored but if you were watching with a modicum of understanding of football you would have seen it was Kee that terrorised our defence and totally swung the game away from us.
My point was that if we are to get a new striker in it should be someone of Kee's quality , someone with the ability to take responsibilty and make things happen rather than blame the lack of service , especially when our style of play is as predictable as it currently is .

Your both wrong ,the reason we not in DIV ONE now is because we werent good enough. Not good enough to beat Burton in a 2 leg tie , and they werent good enough to defeat Fleetwood either
