Why did people boo Constantine?

That simply isn't true. I used to be very friendly with Rawle's agent, and I can tell you that he only started to get involved in the summer when we offered him less than we offered other players (Bramble being one) even though he had scored 20 goals and saved us from relegation.

Now you know the truth I take it you won't boo him again?

Was Rawle's agent the same as Connies? In any event, I must have missed the change in opinion where we would now take an agent's word for something......

I would say Connie is border line deserving of booing and can understand those that do. It is certainly good entertainment when the player booed plays a pretty crap.

For me though perhaps most deserving of being the recipients of boos are some of our fans. Jees there are a lot with no football brain / intelligence. Our passing was quite often poor yesterday but we had a couple of occassions when we kept the ball by ...shock horror...going backwards. Despite the fact we were keeping the ball and drawing Northampton out and switching play, a large section near me in the South Upper wanted us to 'Go Forwards'. When someone did lump it up and we lost it they wanted us to 'keep the ball'. And to think they probably genuinly beleive they could do a better job than Tilly....

Constantine was reputed to be touting himself around to other clubs at Xmas despite saying in the press that we wanted to sign at Southend and Gutteridge behaved live a spoilt child when Tilson dropped him before giving it the large only to go via Orient and Col U to the dizzy heights of Northampton.

Dont usually agree with booing ex players but both these two in my book whilst doing a good job for the club at the time left under a sour note.

I booed Constantine because above the reasons stated above, but I applauded Gutts when he came on. Reason being because whatever the circumstances surrounding Gutt's departure, he was a key member of a championship winning Southend United side and they don't come around too often!!

Who cares, I'm sure Constantine and Guttridge will get over the trauma. Most ex-players get booed unless they were particularly good. Constantine was good in a rubbish side and I wouldn't take him back. Guttridge had one good season but he's a **** and not only left us but then went on to play for Orient AND Col U.

I booed both. Gutts more than Connie but i still booed both. Connie wanted out way before he went (FACT!) and Gutts is just a little chite.

Wanna boo someone then boo the team that's trying to contribute to your club falling down the leagues not boo at your own players.

Surely the tactic if you don't agree with Tilson's decision to bring on a sub you don't like is to think,oh well let's see what he can do today,rather than condemn the guy as he walks on the pitch!

I think I have just proved my real point: that you booed him because you wanted to, and no other reason, and tried to justify it with a bit of dodgy information. When someone can catagorically refute said dodgy justification, instead of accepting it, you believe what you want to believe so you can continue to boo him in future.

Didn't boo either, in fact when Gutteridge came out in the warm up and over to the west, there was a little smattering of applause and he looked up in surprise. On the subject of supporters moaning, why did I hear a chorus of "We're sh** and we know we are" from the end of the west? Truly shocked.

It was "we're **** and its martins fault", pathetic.

Your saying you know one thing and I am saying I know another all be it second hand (but reliable source). Not saying your a liar but who says your mate wasnt talking bollocks? Who says Constantine and Rawle have the same agent? Who says Constantines agents wasnt talking bollocks to your mate?

Most people in this thread seem to have heard the same thing as me so you can hardly say I have tried to justify it as everyone else has heard the same thing and with all due respects the only person who claims different is you?
