Why are we only good at fast food in this area?!

Well done Benfleet Wimpy. When it comes to fast food awards this is the Oscars - mainstream but high profile.

I would like to see a Palm d'Or style award for independent fast food outlets so they can get some recognition.

Kebab World on Vic house roundabout look promising and Kebab 2000 have been doing the business for years.

That menu leaves me with mixed emotions. Whilst it's good to see that one can still get a chicken vindaloo for under £6 they seem to have missed off the pictures of amusingly shaped ice cream & fruit combination desserts completely.

They are typically on a second menu handed out after you have gorged enough food to feed three people and drunk ten pints of lager.

I have never fancied one but I bet the Punky is fun for the kids.

Don't worry, the pictures are still on the actual restuarant menu. In traditional fashion I made my choice based solely on the most amusing photo - it came in a dish that looked like a bed pan filled with brown ice-cream complete with chopped nuts...

I personaly can not stand fast food outlets apart from Fish & Chip shops and only use them in desparate times or when trying to soak up the previous nights booze.

Up here it is all about Jimmy Chungs.........its a way of life!!!

I do like Wimpy though. Quarter Pounder with cheese is the best!

In those menus that stand on the tables in Wimpy bars it states "our meat may contain bone".
There not wrong, my chipped front tooth still bears the scar of a 1990 quarter pounder with cheese:soapbox:

It is a similar situation to Peter Clarke winning SUFC player of the year - it doesn't make him Rio Ferdinand.
