Who will put us down ???

I just hope its all sorted by southampton, so we can go there with nothing to lose and just have a party atmosphere, sing and have fun. We're down, we know it, lets go out with a BANG:support:

No doubts Oldham will get at least a point!

They are confident having picked up 11 points from the last 15 I think it is!

Speaking to people around Boundary Park they still need points to be sure of safety so they wont be going easy on us... Question is if they relegate us do I resign?

I rather like the title of this thread - like Southend United is an old incontinent sheepdog that has had its best years well behind it and needs to be put out of its suffering.

I back Oldham to take on the role of James Herriot on Saturday. Even if we win, other results will put us down.

no we win at Oldham and at home to Stockport - Exter and tranmere lose all there games as do Gillingham and whoever -

we are one nil up at st marys - the miracle is in place - its the 92nd minute ...........

.....and Lallana goes down in the box. Penalty. Lambert is off the pitch having been substituted. Who is handed the ball? Yep it's Barney. But Lee - desperate for Blues to survive - tips Mildy the wink on where he's going to put it. Barney steps up and Mildy parries low down to his left. The Shrimpers faithful go wild, a win will be good enough for safety! The ball bounces out and Granty (own goal king extraordinaire) attempts to thump it away but miscues into his own net. The referee blows his whistle and relegation is confirmed.

From the BBC

"Southend will go down if they lose away at Oldham on Saturday.

A draw for the Shrimpers won't be enough if Exeter get a point at home to Charlton, while even a win wouldn't save them if Exeter, Gillingham and Leyton Orient all won"

You didn't even need to paste the rest of the article. The first sentence is why it will be confirmed at Oldham.
