Which part of Roots Hall did you first sit /stand in...

My first game was against doncaster when they were in the conference (apparently) and my dad took me thinkiong "yeah this will be an easy game" because sufc were higher then them and we lost 1-0 :( don't know where i sat though

...when you first began watching the Blues ??

One of my neighbours is bringing his six year old boy to his first ever live football match on Saturday, and it made me think back to my first ever visit to the Hall ( in 1966 ) v Lincoln City if I remember rightly .

I stood with a friend on the angle in the corner of the north bank -what would now be the bottom of the ' cheesy wedge ' - we were allowed to sit on the wall itself sometimes I recall .

During the next few years, I then progressed to being behind the wall at the bottom of the north bank just to the side of the goal . Couldn't see that much but it meant we could get over the wall 5 minutes before the end and stand on the gravel track till the final whistle whereupon we would run onto the pitch .

As I got a bit bigger I worked my way up the north bank and eventually we made the top barrier just to the right of the Pak 'our spot' . It was a great place to catch all the atmosphere , watch the antics of the 'knees up mother brown 'brigade and still be close enough to start off a few songs .

Great memories - So where did your Blues journey begin ?

BTW , the six year old loved his first match - thanks to all in the vicinity for making him feel at home - and his Dad , who'd not visited the Hall before today ,to his credit , joined in the singing a fair bit . Good job all the goals were at the 'right 'end !

1981 ...0-0 draw vs Fulham .. just 8 years old

sat in front of the wall by the pitch for some reason shortly after game started in the east blacks..

have sat/stood in various places, and normally move when the people around me start to P*** me off..

North Bank a long time ago Vs Cardiff in the FA cup, I remember that I could have gone to the round earlier Vs Dover but went to another match! shame on me

In those days (late 60's) you had to get to the North Bank early to get in. Fans were crammed in and I remember a copper standing next to me at the back behind the goal and saying "you're my friend for the night, any trouble in this stand and you're out". That was just for being there!Charming!....but fun times.
