Question wheres all this money gone?

Come on Ron its time you showed the faithfull what is going on at the club . You said the funds are now in place and the stadium will comence this summer . While i know its only july I have driven passed Fosset farm as maybe a lot of you have .And i havent seen a marker pole diggers or workman like folk on the area where the stadium is ment to be . Second you say the club will make early signings to the squad again its only june but no names or faces .Third its stated that the club lost over 2 millon pounds so where has the money gone from the Man utd and Tottenham games and the sale of eastwood . Somethingd just doesnt add up .

**** me, have I been asleep? What happened to June? Are the fixtures out yet? Who did we get in the Carling Cup?

So many questions, so little time. :'(

Come on the Uncle Ron brigade lets have the excuses.................

Wheres the warchest dont tell me.................in the new stadium.........
With no decent team whats the point..........Darlington springs to mind.

2.4 million losses last financial year inc championship season why?

With the money thats come in to the club since Tilly took over we should be in a great positon.

I just couldn't have put this any better!

Spose we'll just have to make do with more loan signings this season, and another near miss at making the play offs!

Oh yeah. i thought Brush came out with this classic in the Echo "we dont want to leave it too late to get players in this season, we want them in earlier rather than later".

Well at least the club have got our season card money nice and early.

:madman:

I think people underestimate just how much of a financial blow relegation from the Championship really is when you've still got a similiar wage bill. I read somewhere last week that CCC clubs get 78% of the TV money from Sky, whereas L1 get 14% and L2 just 8%. It is therefore necessary to drastically cut your wage bill if you are relegated from the 2nd tier. We had a real go at bouncing straight back in 2007/8 by reaching the play-offs without reducing our wage bill, the huge shortfall from relegation was somewhat offset by Eastwood's sale but it would have been easy for RM to also insist the wage bill was trimmed significantly. Credit to him and the club for not doing that and as I see it we've used some of the money from transfers to keep a good quality squad together - and to have a good quality squad you have to pay half-decent wages for this level. I'd bet my bottom dollar we're still running at a significant loss at this time (I'd guess 90% of clubs are in the bottom two divisions).

I think most of us need to understand that this club may be on the verge of an exciting new era in a few years time and quite frankly if we have to spend a couple of seasons without significant investment in the team (whilst also ensuring we are in no danger of dropping back into L2) then I can definitely accept that. We need to look at the bigger picture, the long-term future of this club is bright and if we had a Chairman willing to gamble that for a chance of short-term success I think we'd all have much more to moan and be concerned about.

You actually answered your own question so I'm not sure how this thread has got to 4 pages!

Do you think Ron is on the fiddle then?

As plenty of other posters have pointed out, there are expenses involved in running a business. People who spend money they dont have are now discovering you cant keep doing it forever.

Ron says the Club cant stay at RH so we have to believe him. Also, Ron isn't a multi millionaire, which isn't his fault, but he has contributed a lot more financially than anyone else in recent years.

If a person of ridiculous wealth came in to buy the Club I'm sure Ron would sell, but in the meantime you have to be realistic and be grateful that due to prudent management, the Club still exists.

This is no different in tone or points to the thread started by Hindle - so merged.

Perhaps you should have renamed the thread "Another crock of **** thread by idiot kids who have no idea on the finances involved in running a football club etc etc ad nauseum"

Winner. Why didn't we see this in the post? Would have saved us a lot of time.

that with the stadium, Harrold, Foran, Painter etc. As also pointed out Clarke cost a lot per game.

Ron is doing a brilliant job.
