What's going wrong with Kane and JJ?

I'm not sure if Ferdinand's lack of a pre-season has been mentioned yet but I don't think it should be over looked as a factor in his current from. Nor should his age and relative inexperience either.
Hardly seen anything of JJ yet but confidence may be his problem as it is with amny wingers who are either very good or very ordinary

I agree with this but also think that the serious lack of reserve team fixtures and quality reserve fixtures has not helped this situation.

Why else is Asante and the other youngsters being touted for 1 month loan spells at other clubs? They need the game time to get the form.

People like Corr and Sturrock have missed pre-season so games would get them sharp. We cant expect Corr to come straight back in and score week-in week-out, although it'd would be nice!!!

They need some friendlies or something with some league clubs, surely Sturrock must have the contacts?

I would think other Managers would also be in the same position and appreciate the fixtures to keep those not playing regularly on the pace.

In fairness I think luggy has already organised a couple of behind closed doors friendlies this season and will continue to do so. Seems to be what a lot of clubs do these days rather than play in the reserve league.

Thr Trust held a Q&A a few months back with Ricky Duncan and Kane. and IIRC when the question of position was raised Ricky Duncan said that he chose to play Kane at the back when all Kane wanted to be was a forwrad (like all kids)

PS initially put him in the Holding midfield role in an emergency and he did well , but had he not been in the first team as a midfielder the next day, he would have played in the FA youth cup as a centre half .

Its Kanes move up to first team football which allowed for the U16 Dom Iorfa to move into the defence for the U18 which resulted in him being spotted by Wolves
