What were Southend doing

Using the Little gazzetes checker viz Which is here  and using the year selection it is possible to see what Southend did at, or around your birthday.
My birthday 30 Sept '66 shows Southend beating Barnsley 3-0 and 2nd in the league , the old 4th division.

My job for today at my employers expense will be to find this program and frame it.

The day before I was born we beat Millwall 4-1 in a pre-season friendly and then won our first promotion that season(71/2).

We drew 1-1 at Eastville, the day after I was born.

I do have the programme

I was born close season (1958), but the last game before I was born we won 6-3 at home Northampton and the 1st Game after we beat Bournemouth 4-1

As i was born on July 26 1986 the game before, we beat Port Vale 2-1 and the game after we lost to Peterborough 2-0

The day after I was born (27 Aug 1965) we lost 3-0 at Walsall.

The players were obviously out the night before celebrating my birth.

The first game after I was born (5th March '68) was a Friday night game on the 8th - we beat Chester 5-1 to go 2nd in Division 4!

Two days after my birthday, last game of the 1973/74 season:
Fri 26 April 1974 Tranmere Rovers A League L 0-2

My birthday? or the day you born? either way, My best birthday present when we beat Bristol Rover on April 2nd 2005 when we went top! As for the day when I was born, I forgetten what Southend was doing .... I might look at the history book!

My Birthday is on sunday, so Its be nice I get my early present when we beat Bournemouth!

On my date of birth (11 Sept 70) Southend lost 2-1 to Bournemouth and Boscombe Ath.

It was Friday night game at home, which is strange as I tend to love Friday night games.

On my birthday (14 Aug 1980) we'd just lost 2-1 on aggregate to Oxford in the League Cup in the days when we never got past the first round (hang on a mo' we're still doing that

), however, two days after we won away on the first day of the season proper to Bury - on our Championship winning season.

Well, I was born on a Wednesday... and the following Saturday, we travelled to table-topping Bristol Rovers' Eastville ground in a League Division 3 fixture... and got thumped 4-0.

Matt

Two days before my birthday (26th Nov 1978) we went to Torquay in th FA Cup and won 2-1. We ended up finishing second to Watford that season (Fourth Div) and gaining promotion.

That was the season we played Liverpool taking them to a replay at Anfield which we lost 3-0.

born 23rd August 1984 (youngest post so far I think). Our first league game wasn't until 25th August 1984 in which we travelled to Layer Road and drew 3-3

how things have changed
