Well I emailed them, and they've already replied. They're picking them up on a date & location convenient to us, and say they're investigating it. No mention of any kind of reward, I know I shouldn't expect anything but if it wasn't for me being honest they'd have just lost £720 worth of stock.

And you'd be absolutely right to point that fact out to them, I'd put it in writing to their head office.

If he hadnt told them about it he would have got the lot.

George Washington told the truth, look what happened to him. Eaten by zombies. Possibly.
Illegally though. He's done nothing wrong and he's notified them of their error, I'd be really surprised if they don't make him a gesture of appreciation of a monetary nature.

Is it illegal though ?

If I accidentally sent you a package and you didnt bother returning it how have you broken the law ?

Companies don't become big and successful by giving away free cash.

This is like some appalling version of Pay it Forward, except the corporate big boys will flip you the bird as they reclaim their jackets and ride off guffawing into the sunset.

...and no one considers the fact that North Face may well be struggling at present and when trying to enforce cutbacks/redundancies giving out free cash isn't a particularly popular policy.

Personally would have given it a month. If I hadnt heard from the they would have been ebayed at £150 each.

Companies have insurance and probably make £200 profit on each one.

Next time we get an "MP's are dishonest thieving barstewards with the morals of alleycats" thread, I shall refer to this discussion....

:headbang:

why dont you e-mail them to say it will be convenient for them to pick them up on christmas day from your address in the faroe islands.

Seeing as it's the North Face they're probably hosting a Christmas Party there half way up a mountain.

I bet you dont get anything in return, you should of kept them my friend. Screw north face there rich enough. £200 a pop on ebay, thank you very much.

I am genuinely astounded on why you would send them back ??

I'm genuinely astounded that you're genuinely astounded. Honesty's not that strange a concept is it?
