Question What is making you happy today?

A colleague of mine showed me a clip of Boris Johnson entering the tory party conference, and being pelted with plastic balls. She pointed out her nephew, one of the people behind BJ also being pelted as he entered.

(Her nephew was the one that sent her the clip.)

Curious. I get that you don't like him but why would our elected politicians being pelted with anything make you happy?

Not a book I wrote, sadly. Yet. It's Rick Riordan's latest. Norse god adventure series thing.

Yes, I know I should be clearer on that issue...

And no, they didn't have it. Oh well, I'm in town later this week, I'll get it from Waterstones. Don't remember the last time I went to a shop to buy a hardback...

I'M IN. THE RUNNING FOR A TRAINEE JOURNALISM ROLE!! (OK it's delayed til new year and in Newport, but I was sure I'd knackered the application up). Do not feel guilty in the slightest about nabbing Mad Max now.

Rick Riordan. My six year old reads those. To be fair, he does find them hard going.

He's a tad young for them, I'd agree (I'd avoid Heroes of Olympus if you can, Nico's arc'll go right over his head). Lots of hard to spell and pronounce words (bit ironic given his best heroes are dyslexic). Bloody good reads, though.

Impressive view from the office today.

One slice of green rep for the first person to correctly name the stadium!

The chap on the C2C arguing with his wife on the phone this morning.

"no, I'm not mugging you off... "

Setting up not one but two companies with my wife. One of which is already profitable thanks to winning a tender and the other got its first client today.

Winning the TBAA beach open today (it's a fishing match), that should get me in the Evening Echo on Wednesday and Sea Angler next month. However it won't be enough for me to win the BBC sports personality of the year
