Was due to travel to Canary Wharf for an interview.

As I was ironing my shirt my phone pinged and this is now going to be conducted via Zoom.
 
13 and a half weeks since I applied and less than 2 weeks before I am due to travel, my passport has finally arrived!

Honestly I’ve been such a miserable grumpy prick the last couple of weeks because of the worry I wouldn’t get to go on holiday. The passport office have been a joke!

My son came home from a 2 week school trip about 3 weeks ago. He put his passport in the pocket of his shorts and then my wife put his shorts in the wash. His passport was ruined. She then applied for a new one on his behalf as we go to Spain in about three and a half weeks.

So far we haven't heard anything.

Did you apply for Fast-Track to make an appointment at a passport office?

You can expedite it when you have 2 weeks to travel, if you can get to a passport office that seems the best approach from what I’ve read online.

They seem to be getting through them now as it’s gained massive media attention.
 
Can’t just turn up at a passport office, an appointment has to be booked. A passport is delivered with one week following said appointment when using the One Week Fast Track service.
Standard application service seems to running (crawling) at about 10 weeks….

Wrong!

Plenty of people have been turning up. They have special queues set up for those with 48/24hrs to fly and will print it there and then.

Some offices if they’re not too busy will do it for you if you are over 10 weeks and have 2 weeks to fly.
