A lovely day yesterday, we took ourselves over to Gravesend to have a three course lunch at a little Thames-side restaurant called Riva, on a Groupon deal. This was directly adjacent to where the Tilbury ferry docks (and which would have been a quicker and easier journey) and almost dead opposite to the cruise terminal.
Excellent food, I don't normally eat three courses but warm quiche and salad, liver and bacon followed by a lovely bread and butter pudding with creme anglaise left me very well satisfied. While there, we were fortunate enough to watch the CMV Astoria being brought out of dock and turned round - at quite high speed - to begin her next cruise journey...absolutely fascinating. Thoroughly recommended.
