Question What is making you happy today?

A lovely day yesterday, we took ourselves over to Gravesend to have a three course lunch at a little Thames-side restaurant called Riva, on a Groupon deal. This was directly adjacent to where the Tilbury ferry docks (and which would have been a quicker and easier journey) and almost dead opposite to the cruise terminal.

Excellent food, I don't normally eat three courses but warm quiche and salad, liver and bacon followed by a lovely bread and butter pudding with creme anglaise left me very well satisfied. While there, we were fortunate enough to watch the CMV Astoria being brought out of dock and turned round - at quite high speed - to begin her next cruise journey...absolutely fascinating. Thoroughly recommended.

From Love That Dog, what I is bedtime reading.

I think you should push yourself a bit more.

Have you tried anything by Roger Hargreaves?

Just got my first pro photography booking. A wedding in Cheltenham in May. Excited and bricking it in equal measures.

Good luck mate, hope it's the first of many.
Thanks a lot! I'm in the fortunate position of having a stable dayjob as a safety net while I pursue my photography dream, but if I can gradually swap office time for shooting time over the next 6-9 months I'll be a happy man.

Yes, good luck, I found our wedding photographer on the Zone 6 years ago!

Cal Crutchlow, a bit of rain and the Brit roars into the lead! Ace.

Managed to avoid the result until this morning and watched the race. Great race and great result for Cal you could see he was stalking the leading 3 and just waiting and saving the tyres. Felt for Rossi though as Marquez was really on one and should've been black flagged after that last incident. Always feel for the rider that gets thrown off as the rider that did it gets the penalty doesn't help the rider who fell off.

Glad someone else on here enjoys the best Motorsport out there. 2 races in and they've both been edge of your seat stuff.

I'm not somebody who enjoys motorsport but whilst on the subject thought I'd put a plug in for one of the clubs main sponsors Trade Price Cars. Dan's other passion aside from Southend united is motorsport and he now has a team in the British touring car championship. This weekend they got a podium finish in their 1st race. That makes me happy as Dan is a really good bloke.
