As i walked past I either produce either a horrible sounding cough or if the timings right a smelly treacleI'm always tempted to stand right next to people like that and play music loudly on my phone!

Sounds about right .British Gas, incompetency at the highest level?. My son had booked an appt with them today for his gas boiler to be serviced, they said anytime between 8am-1pm, so he arranged to work from home today.
They phoned at 11am, said they were running late ( ! ), & could they come round after lunch?. He said he was having his hair cut at 2pm, so re-arranged for 2.30pm.
At 2.05pm whilst having a trim his phone rang & it was the Gas Board saying they were outside his home, & getting no answer from ringing the doorbell?. He explained the earlier discussion he'd had with them, which the guy confirmed by checking his laptop.
Then the guy said they couldn't wait until 2.30pm, despite agreeing this time 3 hrs earlier, & told him he'd have to re book & make another appt FFS!.
What a way to run a company??.

I think it was probably due an increase but I would have only increased by £0.50 for cars (20% increase)
Even so think it was only increased to probably help partly fund the new crossing from East Tilbury to East of Gravesend. Quite easy to remember where the tunnel is going Mrs Greenwood. Especially when your on a programme to talk about it
Just a shame the tolls were never scrapped like they said they would be once it was all paid off. I token amount for maintenance could have then been applied. It's just a cash cow![]()

Find an independent plumber that services boilers. I'm based in Stanford-le-Hope and I use a company called Hollands Heating. Service for a boiler is only about £90. I'm not sure on the service plans that Britsh Gas use but I had my boiler fitted in 2013. It's been serviced every year since and in that time I've paid just the service price plus a couple of maintenance parts (new gasket seals etc)British Gas, incompetency at the highest level?.
