Regular clients who think it's acceptable to "pay on return" for their taxi to the airport when they're away for 4 weeks! :Thumbs down:

Money is not an object for them and they live half the year abroad, but for us little people, it's taking the wee wee a bit. Especially when they book at short notice as they know Kev won't say no. He had a late pick up in Barking last night at half past midnight and a Southampton going at 8 this morning - he should've said no to getting up for them at 4.30 but he wouldn't.

Driving down the M11 yesterday I was staggered by the amount of undertaking going on - not just one but across all lanes - madness ?

I am constantly staggered by the number of drivers who sit in lanes 2 or 3 despite their inside lane being clear. Also how many fail to check their mirrors.

Can't say money is no object for us (unfortunately) and we live all year abroad.Fully agree that paying "on return" -as you put it- is taking the ****.

Drew a blank with Paper Lock Mill with magnet fishing today, far too clean and well maintained for our treasure hunts but been given a hot tip that Heybridge Basin may be the place to make our fortune.

The good ship A1 will be plotting a course there next sunday complete with cutlasses drawn and a flask of coffee. Have you seen the price of rum lately?

Usually no one bothers me enough to sign a petition but after seeing Baronness Lawrence on the news, I have. She has lost all credibility after her accusations over the Grenfell fire. She could have used her status to highlight the real reasons, instead of playing the racist card. Just what criminally guilty want.....And they haven't even given evidence yet.

A local Turkish restaurant has been caught with four illegals working in the kitchen.

My problem is with the employers that exploit those with no legal status for their own financial gain whilst failing to pay tax and national insurance.

I hope the four chaps get a fair chance of staying in the UK. The 'employers' are looking at an £80k fine which is going to sting.

Horrendous, it must have been hell for them, trapped in the dark, cold, no water, no air, no toilets, slowly dying one by one. RIP . Too tragic to imagine..

Clearly the policy of holding drivers responsible doesn't work. Rather than a fine per person found, how about some 20 year prison sentences for the organisers

What happened to X-ray machines and sniffer dogs.?

1. You cannot X-ray a metal shipping container.

2. I doubt the resources exist to check every shipping container that enters the UK.

1) Yes you can. they have the machines at Dover

2) I'm not suggesting containers on ships from China. The lorry arrived from Europe via Ireland and Anglesey. So more machines needed because guess what, the successful criminals are always one step a head of the law. Or the ferry crossing would give plenty of time to search with dogs etc.

3) The EU need to get tougher as the problem is not going away and people can be loaded in any country.

4) We could do nothing and continue to enjoy competitive prices at out local Turkish restaurant.
