Timlin has been the catalyst in my opinion.

We have not lost a single game when he has played...

I'm over the moon where we are at the moment. Yeah we will have a blip of about 6 games or so but thats normal for any team. So its great to get as many wins and points in as possible. Even if we aren't playing well away from home a point to keep up the current form is a positive result. The players feel they can beat anyone at the moment and long may that continue.

I think we will be up there come the end of the season, of course I hope we get automatic rather than get a play off place but it will be tough as I feel Swindon will be there towards the end of the season and of course Crawley.

Its still early days yet but I think after christmas we should get a bit of a clearer idea where we will end up.

The thing is we don't have to maintain this form to go up.

At the moment we have scored 32 points from 15 matches, or 2.13 points per game. Assuming we need 85 points for automatic promotion (it's probably less than that, but anyway) we only need another 53 points from 31 matches, or 1.7 points per game.

Over the last 5 years in League Two, these are the averages:

Champions: 90 points
3rd: 83 points
7th: 72 points

So yes, in theory we need an average of around 1.7 points per game to finish at least 3rd. At the moment we are on for about 98 points!

It's looking good then. Drawing on the Plymouth stats it should not be taken for granted that a blip in form for a PS is inevitable. If we can keep Hall and Timlin until at least the end of this season, if Corr can get back on the pitch and if one other, preferably pacy, striker is brought in to cover for injuries/suspensions to Harris/Dickinson/Corr then maybe no blip. Plenty of if's but who knows, 100 points and 100 goals are certainly not out of the question.

Lets hope we stay on a good run because christmas is still the time that will make or break our season nearly every christmas we have a stinker of a run .We may also lose Timlin at the end of december . Of course I hope we can either keep him on a season long loan or sign him in january .Cant see his wanting to go back to swindon only to rot on the bench .
