Bobby Brown - On our own

Too hot to handle, too cold to hold
They're called the Ghost busters and they're in control
Had 'em throwin' a party for a bunch of children
While all of the while the slime was under the building

So they packed up their group, got a grip, came equipped
Grabbed they Proton packs off their back and they split
Found about Vigo, the master of evil
Try to battle my boys? That's not legal

I can't say I like Mike Read even as a DJ.

My sense of humour was formed by the Goons and Python. The only good thing about 80's humour was Fawlty Towers,IMO.

Which was broadcast in 1975 and 1979. There was a wealth of great comedy in the 80's....Young Ones, Alexei Sayle, Fry & Lawrie....in fact far superior (Python excluded natch) than a lot of stuff from the 70s.

Ah but I didn't catch up with the second series until the early 80's.

Would agree about Alexi Sayle, (who I remember seeing at the Towngate in Basildon back in the 80's).

Couldn't stand the Young Ones.Would also agree about Fry and Laurie if pushed.

When Alvin Stardust first burst onto the Glam Rock scene via TOTP in '73, it was another "what the ...?" moment in the life of this impressionable 12 year old (as was). Though I did not purchase any of his records, I found Alvin's persona to be quite intriguing. Little did I know that many years later, another Alvin would conjure up fantastic memories of that era and change my life forever. As you may know, Alvin Sawdust inspired me to get behind the mic' and realise the glories that can be had whilst celebrating the music and spreading joy to millions around the world. I am pleased to report that this track about meeting Alvin Stardust is now on that youbee tubee facility and some of you may remember that The Greatest Living Retired Retro DJ - I, Rob Noxious - actually played it on my first show. Astonishing, but true.
