Remember Ryan Adams? He used to be big.

This is what he's doing now.

Good article. Love that album 'Heartbreaker' and remember him being quizzed by Jo Wiley circa 2001/2 and her being bemused by him referring to The Smiths as influential on him. "But what about modern bands?", Jo asked. He really didn't want to be roused into her need to know what modern influences he had and judging by this quote from the article, you can see that The Smiths were all that mattered:-

"If you don't have an outlet you become a criminal, or misanthropic." That outlet arrived when he heard the Smiths' compilation album Hatful of Hollow: "To this day, the emotions I feel when I hear it are indescribable."

I saw him here at the turn of the century in a small venue.Apart from the excellent music, I remember him asking for, (and getting) a bottle of wine sent up to the stage, from one of the bars on the side."We have money you know." Never seen that before.

Thanks to our good friend Slipperduke mentioning it on Twitter earlier this week, I can't get this out of my head at the moment. Not that I am complaining one little bit.
