Simply excellent.One of the mysteries of pop is why Clapton was so successful after Cream split up and Jack Bruce hasn't been.
God was more accesible I suppose but I've always thought that JB was the better musician (and singer too).

Probably didn't go on about how great the National Front was either despite playing black blues music.
 
Just to clarify mate ... it was Enoch Powell who Clapton lauded in his Alf Garnett moment in '76.

Correct.In Brum too where EP was,of course,hugely popular as a local (Wolverhampton).MP.I saw him give a brillant speech against British entry into the European Common Market at the Bullring back in the mid-70's.A flawed genius with a monumental mind.EP not Clapton.:winking:

(Clapton,in his autobiography,tried to excuse his remarks by saying that he was drunk at the time.Sorry but that doesn't excuse what he said for me).
