Romanian brass band Fanfare Ciocarlia thanks to Cerys on 6 Music. Great stuff!

I know it's probably heresy to say, but MBV always leave me cold. I think maybe a reappraisal is needed in my later years perhaps.

The new MBV is excellent.

Definitely give them another spin MK.

I'm with you - couldn't be less interested in the return of MBV.

I didn't start listening to My Bloody Valentine until a couple of years ago, and have grown to like them alot, although I don't love them like alot of people do. I like the Walls of sound, the melodies etc, but the white elephant in the room has always been that most of their songs sound the same.

My first impression of m b v after 4 listens this morning is mixed. The first 6 songs sound exactly like the band 22 years ago, except even less distinctive, like tracks that didn't make the first two albums. The last 3 songs however with the driving drum loops are probably the best songs I've ever heard by them.

Just layer up before you listen to them (with clothing I mean, they will layer up with guitars). 'Isn't Anything' is a good place to start if you are not convinced that 'Loveless' was a game changer.

New one is very good but no real progression and surely could have been produced over a couple of years.

How fugging wrong was I? Loveless is an instant winner, think I was a bit hung up on Grunge at the time it came out so maybe why it went by the wayside. Time to explore the new album me thinks.

Otis Grand.Pretend. Off 2012's Blues '65.

OG is probably Britain's best Blues guitarist.

Please don't mention Clapton.:hilarious:

Otis is good but not the best - try Matt Schofield for instance (Clapton - there I`ve mentioned him ! :winking:)

Can blues play the whites?

Maybe but they sure as hell can't sing them.:smiles:
Matt Schofield is a good example.
At least Otis Grand plays with people like Sugar Ray Norcia, who can sing, which makes up for his own obvious deficiencies in that department.

Ah you could be right but you mentioned guitarists not singers:guitar:
