What about the shareholders?

Looks like the final confirms that perk is also gone!
According to liaison minutes it's an oversight that priority was not given for the Charlton game. Since then we've had 3 more games with priority options, so make your own conclusions.

I'd suggest an email to Tom to ask the question

Tom.Lawrence@southend-united.co.uk

And if you're a member of shrimpers trust maybe send an email to see if they can take the matter up with the club

We are aware of this issue, and have already raised it. Unfortunately, there seems little appetite to become involved in it at this time. I don't know if that's because the share issue was a Ron thing and they no longer see it as applicable but it is something we will continue to push for.

Again, unfortunately, too late for some to have gained any priority for the end of this campaign but we will continue to ask questions for next season.

Thank you for your interest in this matter. As a shareholder I was disappointed that we weren't given priority along with the STH. I think there needs to be some clarity over this matter for the future. I did speak to Justin about this some months ago and he said then it was something that needed looking into. I should state that the shares were purchased with the promise of priority when it came to huge demand games such as this play off. There was no time limit. Indeed it was the carrot that got people to buy them in the first place. Luckily, I have managed to get my tickets via the general sale. UTB

OBL for me it's the lies and lack of engagement from the club on this - 'an oversight' it was said after Charlton. Rochdale no reason given but they sorted a shareholder a ticket during the priority period.

No response from the club to emails sent on the matter.

Doesn't build any trust.

I hope that if a membership scheme is introduced that gives priority that at least shareholders and season ticket holders rank pari pasu for that - ie if membership is included for season ticket holders then shareholders get it as well. Or if Season tickets get a discount on membership so do shareholders. If the trust is consulted on this I hope these considerations are given as part of feedback.

Yeah, I know. As I say, my own thought is that it's a Ron thing so therefore maybe not seen as a priority?

They are all under tremendous pressure at the Club at the moment, there are so few staff dealing with this massive game and all the accompanying problems and obstacles, which really shouldn't have made it so difficult for them. I do feel sorry for them. I know I've been receiving umpteen messages from Junior Blues parents frustrated they're not hearing back about mascot packages, but the reality is, there's just not enough staff available.

Yeah I totally get that - it's why I haven't followed up on my most recent email yet nor enquire why priority not given for FGR - I guessed they would have more urgent matters to attend to.

It's a shame as a potential solution was/is so simple - if a system solution isn't possible just make it phone or in person sales only with the share register printed off and names crossed off when they buy - that's how it was done years ago!

I recall that our ticket accounts were flagged as Shareholders and given the priority automatically as presumably STH are.

My account has flags on it for STH & something to do with FGR IIRC, I can't check it at the moment as the queueing system's still working.
But I'm sure they could add a Shareholder tag too.
IIRC correctly the [legally binding AFAIK] prospectus said the shares were effectively worthless so the priority was the only real benefit.

Do you have a copy of the prospectus still? I suspect I still have one but where it is I have no Idea!

Oh, I don't recall ever buying online a priority ticket - not even sure we had a online ticket system back then!

There 'are' a number of shareholders .. their shareholding in a worthless pile of crap was diluted to next to nothing, but they are still shareholders, who were promised things going forward. If the new regime wants to disregard said promises to what is now , what 0.1 per cent of the company shareholders..? by value , but 99 per cent by number.. then just front it up and say so . most fans bought shares to get first dibs on seats at the new ground (lol). but will they get first dibs on any revamps of the ground or the new East Stand..?
