West End shows

The Lion King was visually awesome though biased as a friend was mufasa!
Blood brothers saw that many many a year ago and thought was very good.

Very honourable mentions go to Spamalot and The Producers though neither are on anymore.

I went to the West End for a show once. Well, I say West End, it was actually down a back alley and I had to have a secret knock in order to get in. When inside though, I thought the show was great... Ladies of all shapes and sizes and for just £10 extra I got rode like a good'un.

Would thoroughly recommend it, I still have the address if anybody wants it.

Going to see Blood Brothers tonight, really looking forward to it. Saw it a few years ago and it was brilliant.

Also, last month I saw Les Miserables from the front row, thought it was amazing.

Anyone seen either of these, or other shows they have enjoyed?

Seen them both and with les Miserables seen that about 4 times, add our house, the play that I wrote, pink cadiac, grease (worse show ever), chitty chitty bang bang, joesph, lion king, and a few others to the list.

Not really interested thanks. Although I saw Art at the Palace a few years back, which was dull. (In the US, they cast Niles, Frasier and Martin from Frasier, in the UK we got Nigel Havers. Go figure.)

As part of my community service, I had to accompany a group of sick kids to A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Barbican. To be honest, I couldn't really be arsed with it so I left them there and went down the boozer.

I reluctantly went in to catch the second half, but the kids were nowhere to be seen, which was a right stroke of luck as it meant I could go back down the pub and see the rest of the football.

Kind Regards

Is it me or is there something a bit gay about enjoying seeing a west end musical....

My brother works in west end theatre and he did comment that is one of the few straight guys in the business. However, I have always worried about him a bit, can do camp a little too well.

Nothing gay about going to see a west end musical. Lovely evening out, and one that the ladies always appreciate.

Seen Blood Brothers and Les Mis several times and loved them.

Avenue Q is also very good, as is Wicked, Phantom of the Opera. Heard a few dodgy reviews about Priscilla QOTD,

Yep, it wasn't too good. The songs were laboured and it just went on to long - especially in seats made for midgets. I was amazed about the number of young kids (under 10) in the theatre when it was fairly risque fair. Obviously film ratings don't apply to the theatre.
