anyone feel they might have been mugged off by RM ?

anyone controlling a piece of prime real estate and getting 5 MILLION POUNDS from Sainsburys should be able to operate a well supported Lge 2 football club .......

What supporters should remember is the names of the players who continued play for this club without wages being paid ...

and as for all that how Sturrock saved club stuff - total bollox

Do you talk anything apart from Bollox

Rumour is Brown and Rick Holden have reformed their old band and called it Won Direction. They have done a cover of the Yazz track 'The only way is up.' Sainsburys have exclusive rights to its online sale.

Is swear you've been saying the same thing for years despite people explaining the concept of paying off debts with the £5 million to you on an uncountable number of occasions.

Also Sturrock saved the club, if Tilson ran the show on our first season in league 2 we would likely have been playing the youth team every week. The connections and trust Sturrock had built with players, agents and clubs over the years was the only thing keeping us from becoming a non-league side (or worse), whether you like his style of football or not Sturrock worked a miracle by saving us and he should be remembered as a legend at the club.

Agree 100%. As much as RM took an awful lot of stick for the way he got rid of Tilson (which could have been handled so much better) it was without doubt the best decision for the club. There's no way Tilly would have been able to get enough quality in to a club on its knees in such a short space of time, he just didn't have the contacts a man with Sturrock's many years of experience had. While it certainly wouldn't have been Tilly's fault I do feel we'd have probably ended up in the Conference had he stayed, and in my opinion that's the hardest relegation of all to bounce back up from. So yes I'm surprised that some underestimate the job that Sturrock's did here, even if he couldn't quite get us back into L1 during his tenure.

If Ron was thinking about making best decisions for the club he would of sold the club when it was an established top half league 1 side under Tilly & Brush before he personally relegated us.

This is so true.
And if he stopped making those ridiculous marquee signings.

Dont' know why this has only come up when Brown mentioned it in an interview. We've been spend spend spending for a while now and every time I've mentioned it on here no one seems interested. When we next can't buy someone, or need to sell someone, fans will be up in arms. But the fact that our squad seems to be swelling doesn't seem to concern anyone. Clearly fans don't see the value in good housekeeping!

I think McNasty and Ron may be the same person and we've just never realised.
Think about it.
The Zone ask for donations and suddenly Brown says we have funds.
It all makes sense now ......

Brown was on Talksport this morning with Alan Brazil and they were interviewing Emile Heskey who is looking for a club, Brazil and Brown were joking that we need a striker and Brazil said to Brown, 'we'll you've put a bit of money in the club so there must be a bit to spend' or it was something like that. Sort of think it was tongue in cheek, but then might explain various comments about the financial upturn all of a sudden. Surely Brown wouldn't do something like this unless it guarantees him his contract of course!

Ive explained the 5 million to Rayleigh Boy about 74 times now, I dont think Ill bother this time

Any co-incidence that the stadium stalls and suddenly we have money?

Maybe Ron's outlays on that have stopped so he has more money for the club?

I’ve noticed a few videos being posted on social media of this “wolf of westcliff” bloke, I reckon he could have something to do with it, he seems to be putting money into everything in Southend

Finally the money from selling Freddy to Wolves is getting spent!

Wouldn't surprise me if Ron has sweet talked PB into sinking some cash into the club.

With regards John-Joe, no doubt after all his tribulations, his stock has gone down and therefore his wages? So, probably not anything like as expensive as he was 4 years ago! And, if there was any change of getting Emile Heskey, even for a year, that would be fantastic! If only...

I doubt it, PB's far too shrewd for that.
Don't get where everyone thinks Barney's on big wages but O'Toole is coming on the cheap?- this I very much doubt.
As for Emile Heskey if we sign him, then I'm definitely out...... or until PB is.
