Was the Wayne Gray playing today, the same bloke Ive been slagging of for the past 6 weeks?
Blimey in my opinion he even got close to being man of the match

And according to the official site's report, very unlucky not to score.

Yep, Wayne worked his arse off - I've been amongst those knocking him too but I've got to give him credit for being our best attacking player by a country mile today.

Gray & Eastwood both looked like they were working as team mates today like they did at oldham last week.

I think this had been missing at our last few home games.

Considered he was kicked to bits, pushed, and one point even in a bearhug before the ref blew his whistle, he worked his socks off today and looked focused.

Mr Wayne Gray has been superb of late, running his socks off at every opportunity today.

Felt a bit sorry for him being subbed (Tillys timewasting tactics obviously) cos he looked as thought he had an (open play) goal in him still.

Keep it going Wayne, we love ya...

Was also a good chance to give the boy a five minute run out as the game was already won.

Wee Chaz you mean?
Totally agree, can't wait for us to blood a successful goalgetter..

I don't know why you have been slagging him off anyway. You obviously don't get to many games. He has always been a quality player.

Probably my only criticism of the afternoon... why take your best striker off when the opposition are on their knees and theres still a good ten minutes to play. Wyne was gaggggging for a goal today, getting the ball into feet, turning and running at a demorolized deffence. Goal difference could play such an important part at the end of the season and here we were at the end with an ideal opportunity to really rack some up.. imagine what it would have done to Brenfords confidence going into the rest of the season on the end of a really good thrashing. Sorry for being negative.

I can understand Tilly's thinking making the sub to give the boy Chaz a run out. But at the same time the sadistic part of me agrees & I really wanted to inflict some serious damage on Brentford. Wayne looked hungry for a goal today.

To rest him for the next match?

To reduce the risk of injury considering he had been singled out a few times?

To get the Goat some time on the pitch after returning from injury?

We won 4-1 you know

Well as a season ticket holder I do actually go to every home game.
In my opinion Gray has been poor in the last few weeks and that also seems to be the opinion of most of the people who sit in the same area.
His anticipation has been extremely poor, his timing has been so bad he hasnt won a header for ages and his passing has been rubbish. Having said all that today I thought he looked like a player who contributed a lot to the team performance, but there you go, football is all about opinions and ours obviously differ on this subject.

Sorry Tim but I have to disagree that Wayne has been quality all season. He started the season well but for the last couple of months he's been lacklustre at best. The past couple of games have seemed to see a Gray revival, and we look much the better for it.

Take your point on resting Southendsleeper, but he's got a whole week to rest and Wayne didnt look like he wanted the game to ever end to me while Brentfords 10 men with 2/3 of their support already on their way out were only going through the motions. There were definately more goals in the bag today and if we loose out on auto promotion or a playoff place by one goal especially to Brenford come May...... we might live to regrete today.
