Disagree there.

If fans are able to boo their own side, then they are perfectly capable of encouraging their own side. replace the boos with cheers and you have an atmosphere.

Moaning at players creates an atmosphere - one that no fans or players like

I have a better suggestion as to what to do with these 'fans'
Enlighten us ORM... I dare you!

Sending some of them to school (for the first time) would be a start.

Perhaps Scrivvo could ask one of the players for some anonymous feedback. Do players pick up the positive/negative vibes from the terraces ? (or are we so quiet that they cannot be heard). What effect does booing and shouting at individual players have on those individuals and them team ?

The reason I'm so incensed is that it is the first game of the season, the atmos was dead after 20 minutes (and deteriorated after that). There was no need whatsover for some of the abuse that was being hurled out Saturday afternoon.

Jupp's hospital ball to Maher was one such example. Rather than yelling out something along the lines of "you're a useless c*nt Juppie" a shout of "come on Juppie you can do much better than that" gets the point across and provides a little bit more motivation.

Then again what do I know ? I don't sit in W, I don't "stand up if you love Southend" and I don't go to many away games so I am clearly not one of the loyal few.

Fair point. But what I mean is the most noisy part of the ground is there which creates the most atmosphere. When the few idiots that boo shutup and support the team there is a good atmosphere in the w block. If the w block wasnt there there would be no noise atall except maybe a little bit from the south upper now and again. Without the boos, its quite enjoyable sitting there. All im saying is the w block is the only part which matches the away fans noise. Im not saying it makes us better fans in any way whatsoever, just noisier.

I agree. W Block is the bestest group of fans in the world ever. They are the only ones that ever sing ever and if they boo, well, it's only because the players haven't responded to their non-stop barrage of noise.

Well done W Block. Everyone thinks you're the best ever. Give yourself a huge pat on the back for the rest of the season. You've done your bit.

I see what your saying and i misunderstood.

The West Block does create atmosphere, and even without the boos that atmosphere will still be there. We do not need moaners to create the atmosphere. If they go away, then people will feel more encouraged to cheer.

I have to say that when I was still living in the UK and sitting in the East Greens, the South Upper made far more noise that the F/W Block ...
