W Block Knuts

* ORM *

Still Loves Emma Bunton. Roy McDonough is God!
First game of the season and booing by half time. Great start to the season boys.

to**ers.

I know. I am not sitting with them negative w***ers again!
How they can call Jupp a uselless c**t and expect him to peform is totaly beyond me.
If that is thier way of showing support then i wish they would f**k off to another ground on Saturday's and week-day games!

This is a perrinial problem at Roots Hall.
There is the argument that they pay the money and can say what they want, then there is the other argument. My argument is I pay my money and I am not going to sit there and listen to some pr*ck being totally negative about MY team.

But thats not the point is it?

We shouldn't have to put up with the moaning (although in the RBS stand, there is not very much of it).

The bottom line is, at the end of the day, it is only a game of football and if there is no draw, then one team is going to lose. If people could come up with solutions to ''problems'', instead of simply moaning and shouting at their own team, then it wouldn't be so bad.

As for needing their money, surely we would get higher crowds if those who moaned left Roots Hall, leaving us with a joyful crowd, who would then get Southend a good reputation, which may encourage more fans to come.

However, if a stranger to roots Hall, comes in and hears the bause hurlled by our own fans, they are less likey to come back, than if the crowd was chanting and cheering, no matter what the score.

I think it's the same old problem every year! too much expectation and too little patience!

I have to admit I was pretty gutted our team got off to a bad start, but I was not surprised because I predicted we would lose anyway [and i hate myself for doing so!].

We'll come through this... and sooner than we all think!!!

Thanks Bigdel, lets face it though... we shouldn't have to say it, should we?

Of course everyone is welcome to their opinions and that is fair enough, but some of these opinions are completely unjustified & possibly just for the sake of posting something.

The bottom line is that fans berating a player only hurts the team and fans berating the team only hurts other fans...
sure, say that a player was [is] crap on here, but not [virtually] to his face unless of course you can prove you can do better than he can! it really is that simple.

We need some fresh topics on here... it's depressing writing on these threads!

Even if they do read this they can either agree or diagree in the cold light of day. During a match when emotions and adrenelin are running high especially at 2-0 down I'm sure the last thing they need is booing and abuse coming from the sidelines.

As to the to**er that posted earlier about crews/gangs being the most committed fans where was the commitment and encouragement from the stands yesterday after we went 1-0 down ?

No, not all grounds have it. In fact I would argue that no other grounds in Division Three have it to be honest.

The only other crowd I can think ours is Spurs.

Unortunately no matter how much encouyragement some/most of us shout it will bne the abuse which has the biggest impact on a player.

What about the rest of the West Stand ? I think you will find it wasn't just the W Block which was booing. I was stood up the far end just as half time approached. When the whistle did blow, boo's were all around.

There does seem to be a problem with people booing etc, but i feel that there is always a good, positive atmosphere within Roots Hall

You should have asked him, instead I bet you all just sh*t yourselves

If everyone is annoyed by 'fans' that sit and boo players that aren't playing that well. Why not come up with chants/songs of encouragement to drown out the boo-boys. A personal word of encouragement from the fans to an individual player would surely give them a lift and make them realise that not all the fans think they are a terrible player.

I have a better suggestion as to what to do with these 'fans'
