Official Match Thread vs Brighton

Ducking disgrace. If we perform like that this season we will have no worries at all. Great commitment and great football.

See you here again next Saturday when we're away to Walsall. Probably return to the crap commentary. Not a single dropout tonight.

By the commentary it would seem as though we played quite well, in spite of the defeat. One wonders what options will be available for us by next Saturday.......now where's that bloke Jaydeaa????

We were doing well till the sending off, certainly the better side.

Even at 10 men if Barnard had scored that header from a couple of yards out we would have been good for the point.

Frustrating but to go down to 10 men killed the game.

Never a sending off in a million years...2 blokes go 110% into a tackle. One player is strong, one player is weak...Moussa gets up and the Brighton player rolls about...Singh gets out his Red card and off goes Moussa..totally robbed and Tilly should appeal, as it was a straight Red!!

Robbed. Simple as that.

By far the better side up until that joke of a sending off.

Kanu looked superb, Revell played very well as did Harding.

We are just missing that creative spark in the midfiled (which we all know about) When an attacking presence in the centre comes in, that will bring Barney into the game more, the poor ******* is chasing lost causes at the moment and needs the service.

A couple more additions in the attacking sense and we will do well in this league.

Its frustrating, we do need an attacking midfielder, hopefully one will come in before the end of the transfer window

Barnard nearly scoring when he rushed their keeper was a highlight

From where I was sitting, Moussa went in studs up.

Another poor day by our defence for both goals, allowing 2 on 1 at the back post. I thought Mildenhall could have done better as well.

Same here. I couldn't work out why everyone was complaining as it certainly looked like a clear red card to me. Studs in, missed the ball by a mile and got their player half way up his leg. Looked pretty like Scannell's at Millwall last season, which I thought was a clear red too.

We didn't lose because we got screwed by the ref (who got pretty much every big decision right as always), we lost because we couldn't create enough chances against a far inferior side, and those chances we did create we didn't make the most of.

We're one creative midfielder away from being a very good side, IMO. We'll certainly finish above Brighton who looked extremely ordinary.

I certainly agree with that. Brighton were very poor. I thought we done well tonight, created chances, and were definitely robbed for the sending off..
Mildenhall though looks not half as good as Daryl. He might command his area but he dont look much of a keeper !

Well I thought Brighton did ok actually, everytime we lose the other team always seems to be rubbish. They defended well (keeper apart) and its not always easy to play against ten men but they took contol and scored 2 very good goals.

Beefy I think yu will eat your words unless we can get in 2 or 3 real quality players. I think Brighton look top 6 material.

Werent we a player short tho? Bit unfair to criticise a team when its down to 10 men.

Singh was shocking tonight he really was. No consistency and his usual let the game flow manner was absent. Far too card happy when some of their challenges....and some of their play acting was a disgrace. They acted like a team of p00fs and Singh bought it everytime!

I thought it was Mr Kettle in a turban to be honest. :stunned:

I've no problems with giving praise to teams who have beaten us. I thought Carlisle played well to beat us (and we were very good that day) last season, and Oldham & Tranmere both turned in very efficient performances to block us out and hit us on the counter. I just didn't see anything in Brighton. They spent most of the game hoofing the ball forward and didn't seem to have a second idea on how to break us down. Other than the couple of minutes before the first goal we controlled the first 85 minutes. The last five, well I don't know what happened there. We just fell apart.
