Vine keen to take root at Blues

Get him in asap.

We're not going to get a lot better offers at this stage of the season.

May be worth a punt. Makes it even more a tricky decision when he admits he may not be fit enough to go straight into the League team. With only two res games left, both of them in April , doesn't leave him a lot of time to get properly fit. By which time we'll be more or less at the end of the season. A conundrum For Luggy and Coughlan.

It does seem a good fit. We're short of a player in that mould and he's keen on a move. Maybe get him in until the end of the season and then take a decision based on how he's done and where Barry Corr is.

Quite frankly it would be a gamble...BUT what I like about this gamble is that it has the potential to work out amazingly well for us if he can rediscover fitness and form!

Worth a punt at this stage; if you don't buy a ticket you won't win the Lottery.....

But many people buy a lottery ticket, don't win the lottery, then wish they hadn't spent money on the fat, lazy, underperforming, overpaid ticket and bought something from the McDonalds Pound Saver menu instead.

On a completely unrelated subject, has anyone heard from Michael Ricketts recently? :whistling:

In contrast to your point....

I have heard of Michael Kightly :harry:

.....a deal to the end of the season with QPR still picking up the majority of his wages seems a no brainer - not too much spent by us if it doesn't work out, and the opportunity to put himself in the shop window for Vine himself

You have to ask the question why every QPR regime has made him an 'outcast' - his own word. We're talking something like nine different Rangers managers, even given his badly broken leg in between.
BTW, would love to know how much Blues are willing to pay out of Vine's £16k-a-week pay packet?

Can't imagine for a moment he'd be expecting anything like that to drop to our level. I was quietly impressed with his commitment yesterday, managed the whole match and showed a touch of class from time to time. If the finances can be agreed then go for it.

Vine ring rusty but showed good touches.

On yesterdays viewing, Vine has obviously not played much first team football and was "ring rusty" but he showed some good touches when he was serviced with the ball - you could see he has played at a higher level and when fitter could do well with us. Even if not totally fit he's worth having around to come on as a sub for the last 20/25 minutes. He cannot be any worse than Harris!!!"
