Just seen this on twitter aswell. Wonder if Smiffy has heard anything?

I've not seen Pericard play, what's he like, pacey?

He will be playing I believe.

Whether its with a view to signing is another matter.

If he does well, who knows.

In fairness, that tweet doesn't say if he'll be playing for us or them...

No I don't but I'd like us to sign someone who has a better record at this level than he does.

But he doesn't have a record at this level ??? :nope:

If he looks good and the deal is right, we should definitely give him a go. But we really need to stop getting excited over what players may or may not have been capable of 5/7/10 years ago. If he looks to still have something then get him on board, but it's got to be unlikely or he wouldn't be in his current clubless situation.

VP would be a good acquisition

VP was brought to England by Pompey and he was a useful squad player in their Championship promotion year (2002) to the Premiership. Sadly he never fulfilled his full potential but at League 2 level would provide invaluable experience. He reads the game well and has a great knack for making space and goals for others so I would not read too much into his own goal scoring capabilities. He would be a worthy addition to the team and Harris would benefit from his presence up front.

He is a target man and was a very good one. When Blues were in Championship he played against us in the game we won 1-0 (freddy penalty). He and Spinner had a hell of a battle.

This is what we need NOT a pacey forward. Harris needs someone to play off and Crawford and Asante can't provide that. Mohsni up front verse Ipswich highlighted that this is what we need.

Whilst he hasn't been prolific that didn't stop him paying in Premiership with Stoke and regularly in the Championship promotion year. Big, strong in the air, and holds it up well.

Notheless will score at L2 level- say 10-15 a season. Note he got 4 in 11 whilst at Carlisle on loan.

Couldn't disagree more with your comments in bold. I think we definitely need a pacey "Theo Robinson"(ish) type up top to play alongside Harris\Corr.

Pericard was very impressive against us in that first game of the 06/07 season. He obviously has talent but isn't a big goalscorer and would probably be another in a long line of strikers who divide opinion on here ir he did sign. He was very popular at Carlisle a couple of seasons ago but a few goals there got him a much fatter contract at Swindon where he couldn't get into the side past the form of Charlie Austin and Billy Paynter.

He's very much a Sturrock-striker though (ie he'll hold the ball up and create chances for the rest of the team).
