Video & Photos of Boston Suspects Released

It makes your claim for Jihad look a bit thin. These two were lone wolves.

Sorry Barna, I don't get your point? They were motivated, it seems quit clear now, by Jihad. The idea (unproven, by the way, as investigations are barely under way) that they were "Lone Wolves" is irrelevant, they were acting in a common cause.

You're quite right, the case against the brothers (and their motivation) is, as yet, unproven.

It could be, that they have more in common with McVeigh and the Atlanta bomber, ie that the Boston marathon bombing was another home grown affair, rather than a result of international terrorism as with 9/11.

Do you seriously believe that? Hand on your heart, really?

As Rusty has said, Barna - do you honestly believe that? I think you forgot your little smiley with the fishing rod.

No. Interesting as in different attitudes to Muslims and how Canada have managed to foil plots by building relationships with Muslim communities. America still seems to think alienation works best...

The Muslims will never be satisfied until they have their caliphate. If the Canadian model worked, there wouldn't be any plots to foil.

Are you serious Andy? America is the number one target of the Jihadists, and always will be - Canada is barely on their radar. And I don't know where you get the "alienation works best" idea from, Moslems in America have unparalleled freedom, and are frankly pandered to, to an extreme. The Americans have prevented a lot of plots due to intelligence from Muslim Americans. 9/11 was plotted and executed from outside the States, these two nutters were working (it seems) as lone wolves which is the hardest to prevent.

What I am seeing here, and in Barna's offerings, is America being blamed for being the victim of these attacks.

Of course not, it's a tough call to make when that real and serious threat is forever going to be there. However you must equally recognise there is not 'unparalleled freedom' either. Guantanamo Bay is still a major slight on Obama for me. America is still a very divided nation in terms of wealth/poverty, race and religion IMHO.

Utter unadulterated bollocks. I realize you have been to America but you really should try living here and then realize that you are talking out of your arse. The major sleights on Obama should be the economic misery that his tax hikes and healthcare policies are causing for normal working people, not one of the very few things that he is doing right.

There is for American citizens.

I agree, Guantanamo is a wart that does no credit to the US - but the hatred was there before Guantanamo, and would still be in just the same way if Guantanamo had never existed, it was a reaction to the results of that hate, not the primary driver of it.

You really are the most insufferable cohnt. I'm going to have to put you on ignore before I get myself banned.

Ha!
I've had you on ignore in the past. These days, I find it difficult to take you seriously, except as some kind of grotesque, right-wing,carnival ,parody figure.Rather like your avatar in fact.

...And here our paths diverge. What is causing misery for ordinary people (use of the word "working" in the depths of a recession, the root causes of which were laid under right-wing de-regulating administrations, is pejorative) is the increasing lack of opportunity to realise the American Dream and create a reasonable existence from a starting point of poverty. The richest in America are rapidly accruing even more riches and increasing the huge divide that exists, while arguing vehemently that they should contribute less and less.

The quote from Andrew Carnegie that "He who dies rich dies disgraced" has an increasingly hollow ring, and even from my right of centre, Christian perspective the obsession that some Christians in America have with Government and Taxes is bizarre and worrying.

"Render unto Caesar the things which are Caeser's" Mark 12:7

"Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Mat. 19:24
