Question Vaping in the Ground - allowed?

It's definitely not allowed. I don't know how many times I've raised it with the senior stewards. I did see one steward taking away bottles of beer that some supporters had brought back to their seats in the West at half time the other weekend. As @Tinks says, the younger stewards don't have the knowhow to deal with those vaping, so you are reliant on a more senior one spotting it.

Don't get me started..........we have a phantom farter lurking in our little part of the West. Normally, it's just before half time and seriously whiffy. If I had to choose between that and vaping, then vaping would just come out ahead. Bugger, you see, you've got me started.
That might be the burgers smell wafting over?

I'm not in favour of vaping in the ground but the club really need to add some nice flat clean surfaces in the men's toilet stalls so the more discerning gentleman can chop up their sniff. It was ghastly in there the last time I tried it.

Smartphones took racking up on the go into the 21st century.

Vaping in public places like the ground can vary depending on your location. Back in my home country, the United States, it's normal to vape in most outdoor areas. I regularly use my Zero Nicotine Vape Plant in places where I used to smoke, like parks or outdoor spaces, without any problem. This particular vape is nicotine-free and plant-based, so I always thought it was more acceptable in public areas.

However, when I visited Japan, I realized that vaping isn't as widely accepted there, and in some places, it's even wholly forbidden. So, whether you can vape in places like the ground differs greatly based on local laws and cultural views.

Totally agree, the vaping and smoking is a no,no but as long as people are responsible with the drinking then I don’t really seem the harm although is it not a FA rule?
We were allowed to vape in the away end at Woking, I confirmed that with a couple of different stewards, and that’s not just out the back that’s on the terrace watching the game

I vape like a chimney but I am also at the same time respectful of others, I would stand out the back out the west away from everyone, hence why @The Pub Landlady allows me to do so in the blue boar, and yet I go outside.

Give and take really and be respectful of others

This is absolutely true, and there is already a backlog of lung cancer surgery .... and worryingly, you see so many kids vaping these days.
There's a documentary on Netflix related to vaping - quite a eye opener.

I don't mind if people want to vape, and it may be healthier than cigarettes, but it isn't healthy and I hate to be subjected to it's second hand smoke.

Personally, if I saw someone doing it, where they shouldn't, I would say something.

It's not give and take though is it?? Why should I be subjected to your vaping, it still has heath implications - if you were respectful to others, you wouldn't do it around other people.

Except is isn't smoke is it.

It's not combustible. It's pure vapour. It's like steam.

Same stuff they use in places like theatres and kids magic shows.

I get the argument that it’s not nice breathing in someone else’s ā€œsmokeā€, but it is nothing like real tobacco smoke, and doesn’t carry any carcinogenic property, as far as I’m aware.

Genuinely interested to know what those health implications are.

Edit: FWIW, I’m not condoning you or anyone else being clouded out, and like Scott I think it comes down to what level of respect the user has.

I have not seen any conclusive data to show any short to mid term risk, obviously long term we can’t say.
I was never a smoker I took up vaping because it helped with anxiety and also using CBD vape it has really helped with my neuropathy

It probably depends on the nicotine strength of the vape. Some of the stuff corner shops have being selling to school kids is positively dangerous on the nicotine front, and way beyond levels recommended by the Health Authorities. Bottom line, nicotine is a drug, and addictive eventually. As for vaping in the West Stand, if necessary, then up the back, not in my face thanks.

I'd go as far as saying alcohol is a far greater risk to health.

Addiction. A&E is banged out on Fridays and Saturday night
