I actually think he started the season really well, but due to lack of goals is now badly down on confidence. Anyway, bash him some more

Got a feeling this could be another Dull 0-0.
They lost their last two league games , all be it they were both away.

Also they have injuries to key players. This would normally give us confidence of a win but we are so dire ourselves of late , that I think we would be delighted with a draw. Boring I know but thats my prediction.

Watch the goals fly in now.

Agreed.

Not to mention he hasn't been good enough in his career. Had one mediocre season in league 1. Every other year has been v poor. He failed miserably at Daggers and without age on his side I did wonder why on earth we signed him.

Saying that I gave him a chance but now it is winding me up that he can have consistant bad games along with embarrassing finishing and still starts every game.

I think he scored a good goal against us once, (may have been the last goal he scored for Daggers ., not sure, and gave our static defense a few problems. This was enough to guarantee a contract it seems.

For Gillingham against us last season in the game that Sky showed live.

Hi chaps, got a huge urge to watch us play tomorrow so was just wondering how parking is around their ground. Also I presume all our fans will be in the terrace section? Just wanted to make sure before I turn up tomorrow to buy tickets. Cheers.

Smith
Clohessy Phillips Cresswell? or barker Straker
Hurst Laird Tam Timlin

Assombalonga Corr

Eastwood martin leonard spicer bentley coughlan woodyard

I got the train on my previous visit, but the ground was well signposted and plenty of residential areas to park down.

Terracing in the far corner opposite the main stand. wrap-up warm because it will be seriously cold, theres little to no cover down there.

SMITH
CLOHESSY , PHILLIPS , BARKER , STRAKER
HURST , LAIRD , MKANDAWIRE , TIMLIN
ASSOMBALONGA , EASTWOOD
Getting the 4 o clock train from paddington, any1 else making the journey up there?

To be fair he was quality for Gillingham last season. But they played him wide in a front three and from there he scored plenty cutting in. He's never been a regular goalscorer playing up top in a 4-4-2.

I suspect that Sturrock has wanted to play 4-3-3 more often this season, and that's why he signed Tomlin. Maybe now that we've got four central midfielders on the books he'll move back to that system.

I would agree with that line up, apart from if Cresswell is fit, I would play him instead of Straker and put Barker at left back.

Two banks of four, should make us fairly hard to break down.

However, I reckon that Sturrock won't play Freddy and Tomlin will continue up front with Brit.

not asking for much out of this game........just a southend win as they are in my four team aka for tonight, come on southend need a win to stay in touch as well:smile:

Have we got home and away starting 11s now? a few on this thread are advocating the speed and breakaway option: if so then is a hold up (Corr)player required and a speedy guy (Britt)? For home games should we be playing more with a winger? So is Hurst going to be a sub tonight and have a full midfield? PS has lots of options and it is the centre back spots that are likely his main concern and keeping a clean sheet. Phillips and his fitness aside PS may be thinking that his 3 sub changes will be game time for the not quite fit lads; AND we do seem to be "over" the discipline/cards flurry of a month ago.

I would have

.........................................BENTLEY............................................
CLOHESSEY..........PHILLIPS................MKANDAWIRE................BARKER
LEONARD............WOODYARD.............LAIRD................TIMLIN............
..............................................EASTWOOD....................................
.............................ASSOMBALONGA..............................................

Allowing Cresswell to get over his whack , Woodyard to keep his place as is deserved , Give Freddy a free role that he favours playing deeper linking up + rest the dreadfully poor Tomlin + Hurst.
but reckon Sturrrock will go for

......................................SMITH....................................
CLOHESSEY........PHILLIPS............CRESSWELL........BARKER
HURST..........LAIRD.....MKANDAWIRE.....TIMLIN......TOMLIN

Yes he seems to have quite a few options now ( as opposed to say the Aldershot game ).
Juts hope he now picks his preferred team and sticks with it as much as possible - although think Timlin is possibly one booking away from a ban ??
Spicer is looking further down the pecking order than ever.
