Trundle

Yellow Army

I have to say, when i've seen Lee Trundle in the past he hasn't done anything special, but today i think he was the difference, he was taking the mick at times, and i think he enjoyed himself out there

- very skillful, and for once entertaining - despite us losing, first time i think i've praised an oppsition player. Still doesn't mean i like him

Geography or Maths?

Nah jokes. He is amazing and i think that without him the Swans would definatly struggle. What do you think?

The ref didnt help much at all though. He booked Barrett for nothing early on, meaning any touch from him on Trundle could see him walk, especially as EVERY referee falls for his blatant diving. Anyone else in the family enclosure see his grin when Wilson got booked? He knew he'd stuffed the officials, and didnt he love it! Class player, though

Put the following on another thread, yes he is really good and has been for many seasons at this level but if he was really class he wouldn't have been playing against us today he would have been resting as it was an international weekend. He loves playing at this level because he looks realy good and we go overboard at how good he is. He is no youngster and if he was really ambitious he would have tested himself at a higher level

"Trundle, great player in the lower leagues but if he is that good (at 29) why hasn't he stretched himself by moving up the leagues; I say that says a lot about the man in terms of Ego in ie I want to be a Big Fish in a small pond rather than step up to the challenge and fail!
He was the difference between the 2 sides to day but to me Nathan Tyson is a much better man as he has taken on the challenge of moving up the leagues."
Trundle like Jeavons also needs to learn to stand up more.
Having said all that fair does Swansea deserved to win but it would be great to play them without Trundle.

He was class last year at RH, and put in a similar performance to today at Wrexham a few years back.

One of the best players in the lower divisions, wether he can move up a notch who knows, just too good for us today.

Tilly is praising him to high heaven on the main website - he may have got today's game tactically wrong, but pushing Trundle into the lilimelight should take the heat off Freddy with the big clubs!!

i think Trundles aim is to play higher still, but taking Swansea with him, after all aint he just signed a new contract with built-in image rights?

Perhaps if he wasn't given undue respect as was the case today then we would see just how good he really was. Im taking nothing away from him, he took his goal well but at the end of the day he is a striker and there's only one way to deal with someone like him, man mark him. Right from the start someone should have been stamping on his toes and giving him grief. It would have taken him out of the game. Thats what happened to Goater and what a stinker he had.

Totally and utterly agree.

Everytime Freddy and JCR got the ball they got doubled up on, pushed about and kicked (less so JCR because of his fleet of foot admittedly). Swansea obviously knew they had to stop them playing. For some reason our players stood back and admired Trundle's ability.

Don't know if anyone agrees but I said as I walked out of the ground that we might have coped better if Spinner would've been playing as I've got no doubt he would've kicked him up in the air early on and not given him as much respect as Eagle did.

Didn't see that - I take it it was sarcastic applause in a p%$s-take way?

If it wasn't for his constant diving I think he would be the bet player in the division.

He was by far the best player on the pitch, how he worked the second goal was top class. It is obvious now why Southampton and Norwich are sniffing around him.

Top Quality Player, but he is a cheat and I hate him

Agree that Trundle was completely fantastic today. He outshone Eastwood, Freddy was hardly in the game (mainly due to the fact that the Swansea defence didn't allow him any time on the ball), Trundle on the other hand just beat our defence time and time again. Even after 15 mins it was blantantly obvious that Trundle had the beating of our defence but we failed to mark him tightly or at least put a couple of crunching challenges in.

Spot on.

Our defence was running (backwards) scared of him today. We weren't helped by a referee who booked Barrett for nothing yet failed to book Trundle for simulation, despite numerous opportunities.

If I was referee Trundle wouldn't have lasted until half time, but then I would apply the laws of the game and book and then send off players for taking the p%&s and diving constantly.

Must've been marking him well if we ripped his sock off in the last ten. But yes he did look good today, although he and Barrett may be working together in Interview classes before long.

I'd agree, he wants to do well but the only way he'll leave the Swans is if he's being payed well, smart move of Tilly to praise his ar$e off though.

The best news will be that come January he wont be a Swansea player after that performance. Someone somewhere will throw a couple of million in and take a punt ....then watch the mighty one man swans drop.
