I up for this big time also but only if we can adopt a cool name like

Winkle Boys
Blu Boyz Southend
Curva Universal Bicycles
Nzamba Ultras 1906

Obviously we would have to adopt an extreme left wing stance like the famous Livornese in order to accomodate the views of most SZoners. ; )

Lazio's Irriducibli do this, I know they've got a website and a shop in Rome city centre IIRC.

Some of it's quite cool, although some of it is a bit fake Burberry dodgy market looking!

Unfortunately Lazio's ultras are extreme right-wing...not something I fancy getting involved with...however, I am all for the concept. God knows I have tried to start thousands of chants over the years at terrible away days on a Tuesday night in the ****ing rain, so encouraging a more atmospheric group to form at Roots and beyond is a fantastic idea. I used to play a drum in the South Lower in my teens, so I am also in favour of some music.

To make this work however, the Club probably need to be contacted with a view to implementing some formal changes with regard to creating a separate singing section at the Hall for next season. Whilst this will undoubtedly be less than popular with some sections, it is probably the only way such a group can be kept together.

Obviously there is no reason why this cannot be started with immediate effect away from home :D

Maybe we could recruit some of the 8000 ticketless Leeds fans that are still out and about in the Southend area trying to get into Roots Hall.

Well up for this. I've said many times on this board how I prefer away games because of the intense constant singing and atmosphere a collection of hardcore singers brings. if we could get anywhere near the levels reached at Southampton last season in a 4-1 defeat at a home game it would be great. We will need constant updates on any communication with the club but count me in and if it needs any rallying of the troops just give me a shout.

Slip any/either of the words 'Kurdish', 'Polish', 'Afgani' or, dare I say it, Labour into the name somehow and you'll have them queuing at the turnstiles to sign up

Terribly un-pc of me I know but who gives a to$$:)

Cracking idea btw.

Kerrrching!!!!!

Idea, as soon as Fossetts Farm is given the go ahead in January, which it will, a fund should be set up through SZ to raise cash to purchase THE biggest muvva of a flag ever seen at a Southend game, home or away. Ideas for design and wording can be submitted through SZ with images made up on Photoshop to allow a vote of all members.

If not a full or partial band, someone with a big a$$ drum to co-ordinate the chants.

Specific information page on SZ so members of the group can be kept updated on all things related.

Someone to liaise with the club and police as it is easy to put a foot wrong unintentionally when groups of supporters and those in charge come together.

Groups such as the one suggested unfortunately have a bad reputation brought from clubs abroad so publicity aimed at the wider public closer to the time wouldn't go amiss.

My brain hurts now :(

After Fossetts Farm is given the go ahead perhaps the Shrimpers Trust could be approached to make a representation on the groups behalf at one of their liaison meetings to put forward to the club the idea of a dedicated section of the ground specifically for the group.

With Scott on the committee, im sure we can go thru him! Personally, its a superb idea and one that i hope pays off and willing be willing to put in the hard-work to make it happen.

A very good positive response guys!

Thats a start..

Now, who can make a makeshift get together in The Spread tomorrow for a chit chat on how to move this forward?

That's two of you now, what's this I up for this? F...ing speak English. :fury:

Whilst watching the Besiktas V Liverpool game on Wednesday night, it amazed me how much colour and noise the Besiktas Ultra's created.

Yeah, its should happen, I would love to see that happen at Root-Hall, its could do with an atmosphere which is enjoyable for Southend fans but horrible and nasty for away team to visit - Georgia fans make loads of noise non-stop for 90 mins (got to stage when they gonna shut up for once, but never stop making noise) agasint Scotland which lifted their young players to beat Scotland 2-0.

As an older generation supporter - 50years+ of supporting the Blues - I think this is a great idea. Well done Smiffy for suggesting this for Southend supporters. An excellent way to get the fans making lots of noise and getting behind the team and intmidating the opposition at the same time. You truely are a legend Smiffy amongst Southend supporters and I am sure you will get the backing this magnificent idea deserves.
Come on Blues fans everywhere lets give this all our support both at Roots Hall and hopefully Fossets in the near future..
(That OK Lee)??

So has anyone got any idea's of names to call the group?

True Blue?

Blue Army?

Blue Ultra's?

Noise Boyz!?

Southend Loyals?

PS, If anyone has any idea's/knowledge of getting a supporters group off the ground please feel free to e-mail or PM me.

I will be doing my best along with TrueBlue, to make this happen, but we will need ALL of your help.

The only thing stopping this from happening is ourselves, so get thinking of idea's, tap up some useful contacts like flag/banner makers, clothing manufacturers, website designers, PR companies, Potential Sponsors/investors etc etc and let me or TrueBlue know via e-mail or PM.

With your help we can do this.

Forza Southend!

Outstanding Idea.

If this gets off the ground in the near future perhaps the ultra's could leave the pub early( ) and start the singing and band playing on the way to the ground. As members to this Ultra club i think the north west corner would be a great home the entire ultra fan base walking in making as much noise as possible as the enter the stadium would be a fantastic site and spur on the stadium to make a superb atmosphere.

My only concern is will they be able to carry it on for the whole game.

Again Great idea, if it proves a winner at The Hall then the Transition to FF will be easier to gain support and sponsorship. Plus if it's all good publicity then the club may introduce ultras merchandise.
