True or False?

Is there actual evidence that Sheffield Wednesday are willing to pay money for Blair Sturrock

Or more likely ... was someone drunk after saturdays game and decided to post a completely make up the most pointless rumour.

Just want to know whats going on with Baby Sturrock

Yep, unlikely. However I don't see the need for another thread to pick on someone who is clearly not our worst player just because his dad is the manager.

I can see why clubs would be interested in a player like Blair, however I'm not sure why Sheffield Wednesday would need him, I'm guessing its a joke, but they wanted it to be plusable so they used a league one team rather than Chelsea

Don't really know what more Blair can do.

He is probably the best technical footballer at the club, he is clearly the second best striker and he forms a decent partnership with the number one striker (corr).

He is never going to score loads but he is a decent foil and the best choice we have and yet he still get relentless stick.

Will probably get stick for this, but he is the closest thing to the Goat we have had since he was here. All his finishes are scuffs, his awareness is excellent and anyone playing next to him is going to benefit from his willingness to work hard, his vision, and actually pretty darn good technical ability. Yeah he isn't going to score probably even 10, but without him in the team I bet Corr wouldn't have got the amount he has.

I should state that while he is the closest we have had to the Goat, he is obviously nowhere near in the same league as Mr. Goater.

Maybe he should start writing a cookery blog? :winking:

I know he's the manager's son but I fail to see why that means he has to be singled out for abuse, even if people don't particularly rate him. He's not going to tear the league apart but if he was, I doubt very much that he'd be playing in League Two for Southend United!

Why don't we play Blair Sturrock on the wing ? I know he has'nt got any pace , but lets face it whoever has played right wing for us all season has been at best average + barely got a cross in . Sturrock's qualities are he has a quality final ball & can work hard , so to have him wide right he can pick out a creative pass or bring Clohessy into the game with his superb overlapping runs + crosses . Lets face it Blair is a poor finisher + hasnt got the pace required to make the most of Corr's knock downs.
Harry Crawford should be given 3 games up front alongside Corr -- he's got pace , strength + always looks like scoring when he actually gets a game...
So a midfield of HALL EASTON GRANT STURROCK behind CORR and CRAWFORD is without doubt the perfect balance of Youth + experience , Pace + power , tenacity + creativity.
The back four is not so easy due to injuries , but i would probably go for GILBERT BARKER MOHSNI CLOHESSY in front of MORRIS.

THERE YOU GO , SIMPLES !!!

...and i'm not even out of breath reading out the team nor am i staring at the ceiling,,,

UP THE BLUES !!! :footballer: :heading: :loyalsupporter:

That’s one of the most sensible posts that have be put on hear in the last couple of days, I’m not a big fan of blair but he’s work rate would surely be more suited to a midfield role. And the inclusion Crawford who is one the very flew players in the squad with the ability to take on and beat a defender would be a massive plus attacking wise.

up the blues!

Totally agree with Lapper. On the few occassions I have seen Blair he looks like he would be suited to an attacking midfield role. He's not a natural finisher, but his touch and vision would not be out of place in a higher division.

Are you suggesting his father is playing him out of position so other clubs don't come in for him ?

No I’m not suggesting that, Blair is not going anywhere he will have a job at southend for as long as the manager does. I think we all realise he’s is not a natural goal score in fact I’m of the belief that he would struggle to hit a cow *** with a bagnio from 3 yards but I think the ability’s that he does have would be better used in midfield. At the moment I think its case of trying to fit a square peg in a around hole.

Sturrock cops all this flak because his dad replaced Tilson, He's an honest player the ball sticks to him, he at least tries to pass to someone in the same colour shirt, I know he will never be top scorer but if we don't start backing these players we are on a collision course with relegation.
