Transfer news
Got a lot of time for his content , clearly knows his stuff as well!

Can you see any of those (aside from Spasov) working out as actual deals?

Periera, no. I think he is going to the EFL last I heard.

As I say, Daly has been a target previously, so is a realistic suggestion. Whether he is on the whiteboard or not, I’m not 100% sure.

Don’t know much about the Barnet CB, but CBs are high on the list. Not sure Hobson ventures down south.

Dackers I could see, not saying he is a target, but is a player that Maher likes and trust. May not be a first choice target. I get the impression, with CFs we want two. A “rough diamond” who should be smiling on our website tomorrow/friday, and probably slagged off not long afterwards, and a “proven” CF. Not saying these are targets, but someone like a Josh Kelly, Andy Dallas, Tshimanga for example.

Agree about Hobson given that he left to go closer to home would be weird to come back, also would we need to replace Taylor in that position / is he better? I’m not sure. We desperately need a CB will be interesting to see how that progresses.

I really think the Dackers ship has sailed but he’s not as bad as people make out!! I hear you about the moans, I’m excited about the potential signing. Sort of player who can come in and be a beast IMO

I think a few have quickly forgotten just how well Dackers played in his last few games for us. I thought we were told he liked being here and Kev was also a fan.

It seemed too that our coaching team were beginning to get much better performances out of him, Certainly he improved in hold up play and also cruised through and brushed aside some defenders let alone being about 6.9" tall

Clearly though not much support for him on here, I hate Marmite but would be happy to see him back personally
I think the unease is the surprise that at 6’9” or whatever he is he is better on the ground than in the air?? Somewhat bizarre

Which is why those three were never in the same midfield together last season and Coker, KAF and Parillon usurped them for the attacking midfield spots.

Personally wouldn't be to upset if any of the 3 didn't play for us again. Defensively not protective going forward not effective. KAF and Parrilon look good, not 100% sold on Coker. I do feel if we strengthen the midfield the 2 areas under criticism will improve.

Or even as an outside bet McCullum- not sure that idea is wiped from the whiteboard .,?

Miley, when fit, is one of the best holding midfielders in the league. Noor has covered admirably in that role previously, and Morton plays it too, but more of a quarter back than a destroyer.

I’m happy about their defensive contributions, it’s more offensively. Miley, how he plays, will never score bundles or goals or grab loads of assists. He isn’t in the team to do that. Morton should get more assists, especially with his set pieces. Noor has scored some fantastic goals for us, but feel like he is the one that could match the goals a Bailey or a McCormack scored in there. All three of them together isn’t a good fit.

Coker is developing nicely, KAF & LCP have been terrific. I do feel like Leon should score more goals for his ability too.

Not that any of this is about transfer rumours.

I'd love to see Dackers back. Still a young lad, excellent work rate and a right handful when he left us. Reckon Parillon can pick him out in the box.
I think there's more support for Dackers on here than people think. Everyone's looking for these great strikers thatll cost a mini fortune, Spasov and Dackers would improve us i feel.
If you cant sign the Wayne Rooney of the NL then complimenting what you have already, i feel Marcus would do a better job bacķ to goal than Hopper and because our delivery and build up is slow, itll benefit.
Rather this than bring back Hobson. Thats a no from me.

I am sure you guys are right about Hobson wishing to stay in the north, but maybe he is now missing Southend!

if Dackers is the best we can hope for ,im sorry to say we will never get out of the NL .his has to be the most boring useless 101 pages of nothing ,Shripermoan is in full force .What boring lives we mst lead /

One non-league football creator has been asked for suggestions for players for us based on positions given to him.

He has picked a free agent, who used to play for us. Not surprising, quite an easy link to go for.

Doesn’t mean he is a target. Doesn’t mean he isn’t a target either.

Some people just love to moan for moanings sake.

Roll on later/tomorrow for people to be Discussing about an actual signing as opposed to a link…

As for Dackers, and last post on him until he is linked to us by someone or is in talks with us.

I liked him. Better with the ball at his feet than his head bizarrely for someone of his size. But these big strikers take longer to “develop” and know how to use their frames. Look at Barry Corr, his best goalscoring season was with us.

Acquah is another who has taken extra time to work out how to use his frame.

It’s a lot easier to work out your game if you have raw pace, or you’re a poacher, or a “10”. But a big bloke who is a target man, it takes longer. Could develop into a good player, and needs a “home” rather than being put out on loan, that helps players too.

Evening all, long suffering Oldham fan in peace. Just want to wish you all the best for the coming season. Hope you escape the division from hell will be following you each week and fingers crossed. . Obviously we are thankful it was us at Wembley but could have accepted you winning as both clubs been through it and superb fan bases. It looks a very tough division with the insane promotion set up so go and smash it along with Rochdale. Noboddy at Oldham wants Mark Hughes to succeed given his history v Oldham. York chairman is an ego maniac and thinks he can buy his way out but the division a grind. York travel 7800 miles next season. Kevin Maher hopefully will get you up. As we say up here keep the faith. Some great games over the years with you and look forward to us playing again in EFL
Thanks. In defence of the York chairman, he donated £10,000 of his own money to us when we needed it most. The money went to pay the players' wages, something our own chairman deemed unnecessary. (The York fans had a collection at our away game too.)

There is a player in Dackers and I am sure Kev, Darren and Mark can help him get better.

I wouldn't be upset if he signed for us....in fact I think I would go as far as to say he would be a good signing.
