When people tell lies sponsorship is lost.
That is what is happening at the club right now. The Club and Shrimperzone have a lot in common when it comes to values and principles . I will say no more on that .
More sponsors/advertisers are set to leave in line with our ratcheting up policy.
And then there is the outstanding question of cheating - betterment of the playing
squad whilst failing to pay back-office staff . An application for a points deduction
has been sent to National League chiefs . We are waiting for a reply back.
We are seeking delay with the Fossetts scheme - our independent financial advice
indicates no improvement in our finances if it goes ahead . Insufficient revenue streams.

Matt - nice to talk to you again . I can tell you that I am not associated with PG
in any way but I can assure you that they are a very decent and honest company
to trade with . That is much more than can be said for the modern day Augean Stables which is Shrimperzone . What have you got to say about all of this ,Steve ?

So did you have a sponsors meeting? More sponsors are set to leave - what ones have already left? And what ones are about to?

How do you apply for a points deduction? What rule do you think we've broken that has a points deduction as a penalty?

Whose Steve?

Toms doing a great job under awful conditions, but like it or not Ron still pays the cheques and has the final say on financial decisions. He can give Tom a budget to work with which again i’m sure Tom keeps too and works wonders on but if the guy above him,
Ie Ron isn’t paying the bills we’re screwed.

You can harp on about revenue from the new stadium all you like but the fact of the matter is the club have been screwed over by SBC and Ron on securing a safe and financially sustainable future for the club.

We have gone from a hotel, cinema and retail park which would have generated huge amounts of revenue for the club on non match days to just a banqueting suite. That’s hardly going to make us financially sustainable is it despite what waffle Ron will tell you.

The banqueting suite isn’t even going to be built initially as it will be in the main stand which is supposedly being built later (if Ron hasn’t run out of money by then) so there will be zero non match day income initially. So that could leave us with a 3 sided stadium with no non match revenue income that the club won’t even own and will be charged a rent to play there.

Dress it up all you like but anyone who thinks the new stadium (as per the current plans) will be of great benefit to SUFC is delusional

Ok maybe the chairman who's stadiums make more money than seat sales are lying. Maybe they don't have bars open on non match days, business meetings and training courses in the week. Maybe they don't have weddings in the summer and Tom could be lying in those zoom meetings.

But guess what it doesn't matter what me or you think. If we don't leave RH we will be playing in a 3 sided stadium anyway. That decision was made for us 15 years before Ron arrived. The south bank was sold off and debts run up that were more than the value of RH. Thats why we have Ron and thats why he is stuck with us and we are stuck with him. In life and business its good to have a win/win situation. But in both our cases its seems to be a lose/lose scenario.

Heres the good news. No hotel means its easier to build the 4th side at FF. Even Carl has hinted he would like to make changes so he will now have a blank canvas to work with. Then we can all put our money over the club bar rather than the Premier Inn.

This thread mentioned "Statement from Ron"!!!!! Can anyone tell me what page it is on please. Thank you,

I may be wrong here, but that’s my reckoning too.

Of Ghosty’s 100+ forum posts, they are all related to the building of FF or the running of SUFC. No posts regarding matches, formations, players, managers etc, instead everything revolves around Martin, the finances or the FF move (and how disastrous it will be).

Make of that what you will.
Identified individual for good order sake !

Yep, reading Ghosty's posts, GBJ was right, he does seem a lot more interested about Fossetts, and the Roots Hall developments, and RM's money troubles, rather than the team. I would say he's a local to Fossetts that doesn't want the development there. Probably doesn't fancy all those extra people and more traffic. It's the only plausible explanation as to why he is trying to shaft us with a points deduction and a delay or end to Fossetts.

Anyway, at least he wins the prize for the most original but very weird first post. And here it is.

Hello folks , Ghost of Christmas Future here . Just thought I would drop down to the Zone to confirm some rumours circulating at the stadium that you might find interesting . Firstly , I am in fact a Blues exile and proud of it . I suppose you would like to know a bit about me . My friends call me Ghosty - I know that's not very original but it has a nice warm ring to it . My best mate is called Spooky and he is the barman in our New Arrivals Lounge, hereabouts . Now here is the good news that will cheer you up in the tough times we are in at present. I am pleased to announce that yours truly is the final addition to your Blues management team .
My appointment is being kept secret by Tom because he wants to avoid the club becoming a laughing stock in the footballing world . This is how it all came about.
A message came through on the ghost-mail which is our equivalent of your email system . It read as follows ;
Staff Vacancy - Southend United Football Club
Post : Junior Football Strategist ( Change of ownership issues )
Job Perks : No pay , No bonus , No travelling expenses and No pension provided.
Duration : 12 months fixed term contract
Qualifications : Must have good tax avoidance skills .
Well its a tax haven up here where I am so I thought I would apply for the job . I put on my best cloak and floated down to Roots Hall to meet Tom .
I said '' Tom , have I made the shortlist ? ''
Tom said '' Yes Ghosty you have made the shortlist but that's mainly because it is a very short list . You are the only applicant so the job is yours ''
I said '' Thanks Tom - I will be working from home so I will not be requiring a desk or chair ''
Tom replied '' Thank heavens for that . We have had to sell all the furniture and fittings to pay the HMRC ''
Then Tom introduced me to King Kev and the rest of the management team . I was very impressed and felt confident that we would soon be climbing back up the table with such good people now in charge , And so feeling well chuffed I returned to base and went straight to the New Arrivals Lounge to tell Spooky the good news, but low and behold, I found him in a state of great distress .
I said '' What's up with you Spooky .You look as white as a sheet and you are quivering like a jelly . Anyone would think you had just seen a human being . ''
Spooky said '' I have suffered some verbal abuse . A newcomer came to the bar and said they were as thirsty as a fish and demanded an orange squash . Of course, I refused him point blank ''
I said '' You were right to do so Spooky . He should have read the big sign we put up - ONLY SPIRITS SERVED HERE '' . Anyway , how did this newcomer get to be with us in the first place .''
Spooky said '' It's a sad tale . He was at the Hall for a well attended match . At the half time interval he was standing near a catering kiosk when some idiot shouted out '' These Hot Dogs have Onions with them '' and unfortunately he was trampled under foot in the stampede that ensued ''
I said '' That is certainly very bad luck but we should all make sure we count our blessings in life . At least he never had to endure the usual woeful Blues performance in the second half '' . Oh , I nearly forgot . The reason I am here is that I have now joined the Blues and will be starting my new job on 1st January . I am surprised you never applied for the job yourself ''
Spooky replied '' I wouldn't want to be seen dead working for a club like that . Terrible reputation up here . All their fans keep going on these protest floats.''
I said '' No worries . Its my job to sort out the ownership problems, while my boss Stan sorts out the football side of things''
Spooky said '' That's a tough assignment . What is your boss ,Stan , really like ?.'
I said '' He is a really nice guy and so passionate about the future of the Blues . I will never forget the first words he spoke to me . They were '' I believe in transparency at this football club and I can see right through you . Welcome aboard and best of luck in helping the management team to turn this club around in 2022 ''.

END OF PART 1 - I will be back next Christmas to tell you how I got on working ,for a year, at your great football club .

Please stop lying about me .

It’s ironic the one’s that make a song and dance about leaving SZ are the ones you couldn’t give a monkeys about. I can’t remember the guys user name a couple of years back but he wrote about a 10,000 word resignation speech (several resignation speeches in the end) like the zone would cease to exist without his expert input and we’d all be in a prolonged depression over it. Strange people.

All those folks either come crawling back as you say after a brief period, or immediately via a sock puppet so they can (they hope) bask in the wailing and hand-wringing anguish of the poor devastated souls they left behind… except I can’t remember anyone giving a toss, ever :Hilarious:

True, I used to enjoy and value others that have seemingly left like @MK Shrimper and @onion bag Dave

What about the ones that you ban?.....I bet you miss a few

There was an interesting reply to Chris Phillips on Twitter from Jobson’s son (who incidentally is the Royal Editor at the Evening Standard - who knew?) which seems to indicate that Ron never paid the final third payment for the majority shareholding and so is not therefore the majority shareholder. He says he is the executor for Vic’s estate and is ready to take action.
Yes I have spoken a few times to Vic’s son he sounded a decent chap and is totally convinced the family is owned by Ron or whichever company it was Delancy maybe

It’s just taken him a few decades to get ready has it? Smells like cobblers to me.

Why would Vic say nothing and walk away without one of his three payments, and leave a clue in his will for his son to find?

Doesn’t sound like Vic he’d never have strolled off into the sunset without every penny he was owed (one way or another).
He was talking about this to me a few years back, however he became vocal about this after Vics brother Dave Jobson left as stadium a manager so may have been a case of protecting his brothers job

Isn't it bloody ironic that as soon as things, at last, look like turning on the pitch, this shedload of s**t falls on our head. Am I a lover of Ron Martin as our owner? Not at all. I'd far prefer someone who can finance the club properly and maintain It on an even keel. However I do consider myself a realist and at the moment there is no realistic alternative to Martin, we just have to pray he succeeds. I'm buckled in for the ride, though I'm not enjoying It. Protests, unfortunately, appear futile , will do nothing and won't help the situation on the pitch. Better save our energy for the dreaded situation if it does all fall apart. A phoenix club is not my desire. We can already see how difficult It is to get out of this division, let alone one six of seven levels below. I'm praying we'll get back to the League in my lifetime, not my grandchildren's..........if I ever have any!😁
A Phoenix club would be the last last resort in my opinion, would only work for me if the club went out of business, otherwise you risk splitting the supporter base and then nobody wins
