Anyone from the zone down at the training ground this morning?

Just got in from the training ground. Lovely day for Freddy and Bilel to return, Blue sky, not a cloud. Very intense practice match, with most players giving their all, especially Bilel Mohsni, or Bill as they call him. Freddy was Freddy. Didn't bust a gut and took it easy, but oozed quality with those quick feet and low hard shots. Must admit, the general standard of shooting from the rest of the squad was pretty awful. Hope they're saving it for the real thing. The thing I was most impressed by was Graham Coughlan. He took the back Four aside and had them clearing their lines and holding the line. He was telling them what to expect at Bristol, and told them in a firm but fair manner, but always praising and encouraging. He talks a lot of sense and seems to be a great defensive coach. Phillips cleared everything in the air and on the ground. Barker takes training drills very seriously and berates himself very loudly on any mistake.
All in all, a good training session. Bilel got on well with the rest of the players. Freddy obviously needs to get to know the squad. But their certainly was an edge to training today, and a real feel good factor. Having a proper striker up front with undoubted quality could do the rest of the teams confidence the World of good, and hopefully drive us on to promotion.

This is so exciting to hear. I can't remember the last time their was such a good vibe on here
  • Freddy back
  • Bil back
  • squad morale is back
  • Can't wait for friday, I fell like a 5 year old counting down the days before xmas
And before any one says 'calm down' , I would rather get excited and enjoy myself for as long as possible, even if that means coming down to earth with a big bang at some point

I think Grant joined in our L1 Play-Off season. Or maybe even the year after that. Certainly after Freddy had gone.

The main thing for me was Freddy and more importantly Bilel were both welcomed into the squad immediately.

Plenty of jokes, banter and laughing between them all. A real good harmony going on.

This is the first step to getting us over the finishing line...

Will they be atteneding one of your famous family meals ?

Can't remember Grant and Freddy ever playing together.

Grant certainly didn't play in the United game.

Sounds like things are coming together nicely at the training ground. Three points tomorrow and this squad is going to be in a fantastic position for the run in.

Freddy does not look overweight and he's clearly lost none of his shooting prowess - certainly showed the others a few things today. As others have said, the atmosphere at the training ground today was encouraging, lots of good natured banter, lots of laughter.

Favourite moment: as Mohsni beats the keeper to a header, Grant shouts "Welcome back, Bil!"

Pics to follow.
