Tories election fine

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-39289195

Quite a cheap price to pay, in order to win an election, really.
the fine is nothing to them, the fact they are being investigated by 12 different police forces is potentially a much bigger deal. Channel 4 have been vital in the investigations - BBC pretty much pretended it is not happening. BBC seem to be vary of any criticism of the government through fear of revenge via license changes.

The only place I've kept up to date on this story is on the BBC.

The investigations have been going on for months and BBC reporting on it has happened but been minimal. Michael Crick at C4 has been instrumental in this being investigated fully.

Which will be why they're covering it more than the BBC. Not because of any conspiracy. As I said, I've kept up to date with the story on the BBC.

then we are in full agreement - BBC are reporting on this and Channel 4 are leading the investigations, because BBC can't afford to upset the government

Sorry, no agreement. I don't accept your reason. I don't believe for one second this has anything to do with the government. I don't go in for conspiracy theories.

I would hope the BBC wouldn't only give significant coverage to stories that they broke themselves.

They don't. They've given plenty of coverage, otherwise I wouldn't have known about it. I take your word for it that channel 4 have covered it more extensively, and if that is the case, it's perfectly understandable.

You really are starting to sound paranoid.

I watch news at 10 on BBC every day and I check their main online news page often throughout the day. Yes they have covered it but they started covering it when they could no longer ignore it as Tory staffers started to make statements to whoever would listen as they were concerned they were being investigated by the police for following party HQ instructions. Yes it is now on the BBC but it has been discussed on twitter for months that there were police investigations before BBC started to give it any airtime.

You really are getting paranoid. I've been following this on the BBC. I know everything I need to know.

if you look at news outlet A, but news outlet B has a story then you will not be aware of the story until news outlet A start to cover it too.

Its not paranoia to have been aware of a piece of news before the BBC started to cover it.

You are getting paranoid and spouting conspiracy theories as to why the BBC didn't want to mention this. Which is crap, because they did.
